According to the 2006 Jeep Liberty owners manual, you have a 20.5 gallon gas tank.

If you are referring to the Malfunction Indicator Light (yellow engine shaped light) the simplest way is to disconnect the negative battery post for 20 minutes or so. If the light comes on again during vehicle operation then the cause of the fault has not been corrected.

Some have a safety switch to prevent engine damage that cuts off fuel supply as soon as engine oil pressure drops to an unsafe level

Trouble code P0174 means: System Too Lean (Bank 2)

Through one of the gromets. Its a rubber stopper that has wrapped wires already going through it and looks like one of your drain plugs in the floor pan. Add what you need by puncturing a smaller hole than the wire so it seals back up around it.

P1698 PCM Failure EEPROM Write Denied There is probobly a bad connection on the CCD bus. This usually happens at the TCM which its a 3"x2.5"x1" metal box on the right side of the drivers footwell. I have seen many TPS, CCD BUS, and Trans problems caused by this little bugger. Usually for this code it is a loose or disconnected connector to the TCM.

Local shop just quoted me $350 on a 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport. Think I'll do it myself for about $100.

Its hard to list them all but some examples are: parking brake on, overdrive off, stability control off (2006 only), airbag service, tire pressure problem, etc etc. You can see what many of them mean when you turn the key to "accessory", many of the lights light up for a few seconds before starting. either read your owners manual or if your question is why do it turn on then what happens is a sensor acts like a limit switch when something is not what it is supposed to be then the sensor sends a signal to the computer and the puter does many things but the 2 you need to know about is 1. the light brings attention to you that something is different or wrong. 2. a code is put into the OBCII computer for diagnosis by you or a tech.

Yes that is a rare occurrence.

The PO442, if I'm not mistaken..is the code I was getting for an "Emissions Leak"-small.. sometimes caused by the gas cap, but mine was a leaking "vacuum type hose" located back at the gas tank.. finally found it, by having Jeep running and got under the back of the Jeep, I could hear it, right above the gas tank.. reached up and touched and could feel and hear it " HISS" even more.. hope this helps you.

You just have to unbolt it. However, it may be possible that you'll have to remove the engine from the engine compartment in order to do this.

Remove transmission oil pan

Odly Enough just had to do this recently,

1. lift up your back seats, you will find car jack under there.

2. Take the tire off the back of the jeep

3. find a place to jack up under the car depending which tire needs to be changed

there should be a nice large flat surface on whihc to jack the car up.

4. losen all bolts and place flat or old tire under car ( incase jack falls or fails car will land on tire instead of you)

5. place new tire on and tighten bolts in a star pattern

6. Jack car down and tighten bolts again

7. put the flat on the back of the car and then you should be fine!

Turn the wheel ALL the way to the right and then ALL the way to the left a few times. This will force air out of the lines. Top off the power steering reservoir when you are done.

po320 is the engine speed circuit malfunctioning.( AKA) crank sensor.

That generally means a misfire has been detected. See related questions below.

I am having the same exact problem. They have told me that it might be the oil pressure sensor. Bad thing is that I do not know where it is located.

It is just above the oil filter on the 3.7L.
