The best way to find out the answer is either take your car to a mechanic or you could by new wiper blades and see if that works.

How do you change the front wheel bearings on a 2000 Kia Sephia?
Hey Roseanne==First, jack up the wheel then remove wheel, then the caliper. Then remove the dust cap over the spindle nut. Then remove the spindle nut and pull the fub and rotor off of the spindle. If the races thst are in the hub are scored remove them with a punch and install new ones. Then replace the inner bearing and NEW seal and put on the car and replace the outter bearing and spindle nut. Torque the nut to seat the bearing then back it off until there is slight play in the bearing. Pack the bearings before you install them and don't put excess grease in between the bearings or in the dust cap. GoodluckJoe
Any issues with 2004 Kia Sorento headlights?
The 2004 Sorrento has a major problem blowing out taillights and headlights. The dealer said they found no problem but I have never had to change so many bulbs. The only thing I can guess is there is a grounding issue some where and techs now a days are just parts re placers and do not know how to trace problems.
How do you program Kia Sorento keyfob?
To program the key fobs for the Kia Sorento, one must connect terminal 6 of the diagnostics board with the battery using the wires from jumper cables. One must then put the key into the ignition and put it in the "On" position. Be careful not to actually start the car. While the car is on, hold the "Lock" button on the fob down for a few seconds to program.
I have a 2003 Sorento LX. I presume you're asking about the dinging (bell) sound that tells you the door is not fully closed. If that is what you are referring to then the cause and the solution are quite simple. It is due to the doorswitch not being adequately depressed when the door is closed. I hae take my Kia to the shop on 3 occasions to have this resolved and the propblem always comes back. The way the dealer fixes it is by trying to raise the pressure switch housing in the car body so that the door depresses it completely when closed. Invariably the switch housing returns to its former lower position and the door is no longer able to fully close the switch - the bell/dinging resumes. I have found that putting 3-4 layers of duct tape on the door side where it makes contact with the switch fixes the problem. Alternately, using a plastic washer or disk that is 3/32"-1/8" thick and gluing it to the door (where it contacts the switch) also works. Use an epoxy or a good contact cement or glue. This provides for a more elegant solution than the duct tape but basically does the trick. I hope I understood your problem correctly and good luck. Gerry S.

How do you replace the front wheel bearing on a 2004 Kia minivan?
well to replace the bearing you need a press, the bearing needs to be pressed out of the hub and pressed back in.I just finished doing the front drivers bearing on a 2003 kid sedona. the work to take out the wheel assembly is not hard at all . first take off the tire now remove the brakes and the brake assembly undo the 2 bolts that hold the strut to the wheel assembly do not take them off just take off the nuts and leave the bolts in place now undo the bolt to the steering shaft it is a 10mm bolt that has a cotter pin take that cotter pin out and take the nut off, this bolt needs to be take out off the steering shaft with a ball joint separator ( or a big hammer put a piece of wood on the bolt and hit it with the hammer it should come off) now look under the wheel assembly there is a bolt that runs across it is the swivel part to the assembly take that bolt out there is a 1/8 slit there stick a crow bar and open it mybe a 16th of an inch very little now there are 2 bolts left they are on the a frame under the half shaft the rubber boot is on top of them take the nuts off these bolts , okay now undo the big nut holding the hub assembly to the drive shaft first you need to take the crimp off the nut so it will turn I think its a 33 mm nut take that nut off now the only thing holding it in plce is the bottom swivel take a long bar and have some one stick it between the swivel and the a frame and press down this will loosen the swivel and the assembly should be loose now hold on to the assembly and have someone take out the strut bolts off the assembly is heavy hold it well. now you can take it to a machine shop or you can do it a home with a sledge hammer and a torch if you have any questions e-mail me at runningjalapeno@msn.com

How to Replace the Wheel Bearings on a
(2004) KIA Sedona Mini-van
Note: To replace the KIA Sorrento's front wheel bearing, you need a press, because the bearing needs to be pressed out of the hub and pressed back in. It is probably easiest (and cheaper, unless you plan on fixing a multitude of KIA mini-vans) to disconnect the whole assembly (with the old bearing race intact - they can press out the old bearing race and put the new one in… so bring the proper new bearing race to the shop) and then take it into a machine shop. So here is how to do all of that:
Tools Needed to do this Job (Have them on-hand BEFORE beginning this job!) :
1 heavy-duty socket driver-bar (at least 14" long)
1 long-handled ratchet driver
1 regular and 1 deep 17 mm socket
1 21mm socket
1 17mm box end wrench
1 21mm box end wrench or a large crescent wrench
1 two-foot length (approximately) of ¾" pipe for extra leverage (use it to extend the length of your heavy-duty socket driver bar… you WILL need the extra leverage on many of these nuts if your car has more than a few thousand miles on it)
Band wrench for rubber housing bands
Optional Tools & Supplies (but VERY useful to have on hand):
WD-40
Hacksaw and 2 blades (I had to cut off one of the bolts that would not budge, and replace it with a similar case-hardenedbolt & nut that I bought at the automotive supply store)
Portable light supple
Floor jack & safety supports
First, take off the tire & remove the brakes and the brake assembly.
1. Undo the two 17 mm bolts that hold the strut to the wheel assembly (do not take them off just take off the nuts and leave the bolts in place). This is what you need the heavy-duty 17 mm deep socket set-up for. These bolts can be a problem to get off. One of the two bolts I had to hacksaw off.
THESE are what you may need a piece of pipe and a long socket handle for… I needed about 2 or 3 feet of handle to get the needed leverage to break the nut free on the second bolt!
2. Next… (or optionally before the previous step) undo the bolt to the steering shaft (it is a 17 mm bolt that has a cotter pin); first take that cotter pin out and then take the nut off. This bolt needs to be taken out off the steering shaft with a ball joint separator (or use a big hammer… put a piece of wood on the bolt and hit it with the hammer it should come off).
3. Next step: look under the wheel assembly; there is a bolt that runs across (it is the swivel part to the assembly); take that bolt out. There is a ⅛ inch slit there… stick a pry bar or extra large old screw driver in the gap and open it maybe a 16th of an inch (very little) so that it slides off the post.
4. Now there are 2 bolts left; they are on the frame under the half shaft the rubber boot is on top of them take the nuts off these bolts.
5. Next undo the big nut holding the hub assembly to the drive shaft first you need to take the crimp off the nut so it will turn (It's a 33 mm nut). Take that nut off. (If the nut is frozen on, try soaking the area with WD-40… then bang on it with a hammer. If all that fails, heat the nut with a small propane torch for a minute or so, then wrestle the nut off.) The nut unscrews counter-clockwise, just like most standard nuts do.
6. Now the only thing holding it in place is the bottom swivel; take a long bar and have someone stick it between the swivel and the frame and press down; this will loosen the swivel and the assembly should be loose.
7. Hold on to the assembly and have someone take out the strut bolts off… the assembly is heavy so hold it well. Now you can take it to a machine shop (or you can do it at home with a sledge hammer and a torch.)
8. Final note: My half shaft (short axel) was frozen onto the bearing assembly, so I had to separate the assembly further inside of the rubber large joint with the metal clip band (shown above-right) in order to get the bearing assembly out from under my car.
When you re-assemble (all of the pieces you previously took apart using the previous instructions) I recommend using a lubricating product to prevent the bolts and nuts from freezing up.
Also, when I asked the machine shop guys about tools I would need to replace the metal clip band, they told me that they just used heavy-duty zip ties instead of the metal bands. This saves buying more tools and getting involved with all the complications that replacing the metal bands would have required.
P.S. I wish to thank runningjalepeno for his excellent information on this site (which helped me get my job done). Hopefully, the pictures and extra hints will be of help to someone else who faces this same job.

Where is the oil drain plug and oil filter located on a 2008 kia 4x4 sorento?
I'm not sure about the 2008, but the 2007 with a 3.8 engine has a heavy plastic plate under the engine that has to be removed to get at the drain plug. The plate has 5 bolts that take a 12mm wrench or socket to remove and the plug is in a strange looking pan just above the front 2 bolts on the plate. The filter is a canister type filter located on the back side of the engine under another plastic plate on top of the engine. It has 1 bolt 10mm toward the front passenger side. Remove this bolt and pop the plate loose from 3 mounting pegs. The filter top screws off and the filter is removed from the top. Make sure to replace the O-Rings that come with the filter. I usually use a filter wrench to loosen the filter cap.

How do you change a thermostat on a Kia Sorento?
To change the thermostat on a Kia Sorrento you will first need to make sure the car is completely cool since the thermostat is located near the radiator. Once your car is cooled down, simply unbolt the old thermostat and bolt in the new thermostat. It is that simple, there are no other parts to remove.
How do you replace spark plug wires on 2003 Kia Sorento?
First, there is almost NO CLEARANCE to route the 3 wires at the back of the engine so you can't pull a wire through the rubber separator brackets on the back of the engine for this purpose because of the moulded ends on the wires. (Unless you go to extensive teardown removing the intake manifold). Believe me as I cut up both of my hands on sharp bolts sticking out of the cowl trying to route a wire for about an hour. HOWEVER---There is a QUICK way to get around this problem and it works just fine for replacing 2 of the 3 spark plug wires. The 3rd (shortest wire is too short to be used in this manner). (to change all 3 wires in this manner, you will need 2 sets of wires). Before you think this is far fetched, price the job at the dealer. It is $360.00 to change plugs and over $300.00 to change the wires for a total over $700.00 ---Here's what I did-- I bought a bag of 1/2" 5 feet of wire insulator (that split corrugated plastic tubing at Auto Zone for $3.00. I Purchased 2 sets $35.00 wires total $70.00 and what ever price plugs you want, I used NKG lowest price platinum with great results. Route the wires 1 at a time from the plugs through the regular channels from each plug to the back of the engine. Cut and fit a 15" piece of the wire insulator over each plug wire to insulate them (across the rear of the engine) from cross firing and route them completely around behind the engine between the engine and firewall where there is a lot of clearance. When complete, cut the old wires off and pull them out and throw away. My total cost was just over $100.00 for complete new wires (2 sets because you need the longer wires) and plugs as I also had to purchase a throttle body gasket from the dealer for $7.88 all in all, I saved over $600.00
It's about 3 hours work. Remove top cover; Remove throttle body and air cleaner tube; Remove both metal triangle braces (one on each side of engine each has 3 bolts); remove both black plug covers.( you will need a small 10mm universal joint socket and extensions (suggest 1/4" drive from Sears). The engine is basically a Hemi which has the plugs recessed very deeply down in the center of each cylinder and makes it hard to get the loosened plug out. I used an old fashioned screen door spring which is exactly the diam. of the spark plug insulator and will jam over the top of the plug and pull it out also works great over the new plug to get it started threaded back into the head. A screen door spring is about 2' long. A great improvised tool :>) Here's a tip to assist replacing the spark plug black cover bolts which are in tight places--use a small amount of plumbers putty into the 10mm socket to hold the bolt so it doesn't drop and you will be able to thread them back in the very tight spots hard to reach. I actually used a black automotive putty used for sticking on trim panels. Anything to get the job done more quickly and easily. Good luck this really works great. someone get tuned up. :>) Regards, Fullait
Do all Kia Sorentos have 7 seats?
Not all Kia Sorentos have 7 seats; the availability of seating configurations can vary by model year and trim level. While many newer models offer a third-row seat option for a total of seven passengers, some base models may come with a standard five-seat configuration. It's best to check specific model details to confirm seating options for a particular year or trim.
