Laboratory Testing

Before a doctor can diagnose a patient, laboratory tests such as blood work are required.

What is the function of the FSH?

FSH is primarily responsible for stimulating growth of the ovarian follicle, which includes the developing egg, the cells surrounding the egg that produce the hormones needed to support a pregnancy, and the fluid around the egg. As the follicle grows, an increasing amount of the hormone estrogen is produced by the cells in the follicle and released into the bloodstream. Estrogen causes the endometrium (lining of the uterus) to thicken before ovulation occurs. The higher blood levels of estrogen will also tell the hypothalamus and pituitary gland to slow the production and release of FSH.

How long does it normally take to get the results of a paternity test?

This depends on the laboratory performing the paternity testing. I work for Identigene DNA testing center, and our turn around time is 2-3 business days once the samples arrive at the laboratory. This is close to industry standard.

How long does it take for hcg hormones to show up in blood work?

HCG is produced when the fertilized egg implants onto the uterus wall. That happens after the egg is fertilzed.

Does o'douls non alcoholic beer show up in any test If so how many would you have to drink?

Considering the latest testing methods utilizing EtG methodology; it is highly possible to have a positive test the next day. Although the alcohol content is llabeled at less than 0.5%, EtG testing is at its peak at 24 hours even with very small amounts of alcohol. I do not know what kind of numerical level it will give and whether that would be considered an incidental exposure. Did you know that using hand sanitizers frequently can also give a positive result. They are approx. 50% alcohol but even applied topically are still absorbed and metabolized giving an EtG positive result. Personally, I feel any testing method that doesn't accurately reflect the truth is flawed but this is the current system. Hope this helps. http://www.ethylglucuronide.homestead.com/FAQ.html#anchor_163

What does an ALT lab test screen for?

An alanine aminotransferase (ALT) test measures the amount of this enzyme in the blood. ALT is found mainly in the liver, but also in smaller amounts in the kidneys , heart , muscles, and pancreas . ALT was formerly called serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT).

ALT is measured to see if the liver is damaged or diseased. Low levels of ALT are normally found in the blood. But when the liver is damaged or diseased, it releases ALT into the bloodstream, which makes ALT levels go up. Most increases in ALT levels are caused by liver damage.

The ALT test is often done along with other tests that check for liver damage, including aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and bilirubin. Both ALT and AST levels are reliable tests for liver damage.

Can an ab positive blood donate to an o positive?

It depends what you consider to be "blood". Whole blood, collected directly from a volunteer blood donor, is rarely used in modern transfusion medicine. Rather, whole blood is separated into blood components, predominantly red cells, platelets and plasma. Each component may then be transfused to a patient for specific needs.

AB negative red cells or whole blood may be only transfused to AB recipients (Rh positive or negative). AB, Rh negative platelets mat be given to any blood type recipient. AB plasma (Rh is of no importance for plasma), considered the "universal" plasma, may be given to any blood type recipient and is always in extreme shortage.

Does ready clean work for herion?

The product itself, no. The advise that is given on their site, perhaps to some degree.

It is important to note that there is an element of truth to the information given on the Ready Clean site. Your body does take in contaminants and stores these in fat and fast growing tissues. The only way to rid your body of these contaminants (such as THC, opiates, alcohol, etc.) is by natural elimination. This is done by four means, all a matter of metabolism. Either you void the toxins in your body through sweat, urine, or excrement, and the rate of voiding can be increased by exercise. Let's count those:

  1. Sweat (perspiration)
  2. Urine
  3. Excrement
  4. Exercise

Now the exercise portion is the indirect means. Exercise increases metabolism, which accelerates the other three means of elimination.

Of course, the easiest means of eliminating tested substances from your system is to stop using them.

If you took half a 5mg hydrocodone yesterday and took drug test today will you pass the test?

yes. this would be incredibly stupid since you would be risking failing a drug test for such a small amount... 3.5mg would barely do anything.

Does strip nc cleanser really work?

All the "strip" products have two functions: they make you pee like a Russian racehorse, and they thicken up your pee so it's not clear, it has a specific gravity at least something like regular urine, a urine-like pH and creatine metabolites. The products do NOTHING to clean THC out of your system--in fact, because they are flushing all the liquid out of your body into your bladder they've been known to cause you to fail.

Strip NC does seem to work, at least after 60 hours of abstinence. HOWEVER, I do not use anything for at least 48 hours before test and flush with Vit C and MSM for 2 days before test. So maybe I would pass anyway. Strip is to be used on the day of the test. It keps your body from burninig any fat and therefore you cannot pass metabolites. I've never failed a test.

YES! It works! I used it just recently, I had smoked 4 days before my drug test, I chugged the entire bottle and refilled it with water, chugged that 15min later, then took my test an hour and a half later. Just found out that i passed it!! Amazing.

OK, here's my two cents worth - Strip NC is a total joke! I drank that "Fruit Punch" and took an at-home test and hour and a half later and failed! It doesn't work. All it does is give you the runs REAL BAD! I wish people, who I believe, work for Covert Labs (the makers of Strip NC) would quit claiming that this stuff works. Because it doesn't. In addition to the Strip NC, I drank over 3 gallons of water the night before, right up until I tested myself. Don't roll the dice with this junk, you'll just be wasting $50!

It worked for me. i had smoked last Friday. today is Friday and my drug test is tonight. i bought it for 50 bucks. drank about a gallon of water if not more throughout the day. drank like 3 bottles of water before taking the strip nc drink. witch by the way was one of the most disgusting things ive ever tasted. i threw up a little bit on the last few gulps. drank another three bottles of water. drank a cup of cokeacola to make sure my piss was dark enough. My piss came out a tinted green the first two pisses i took. then i took my third piss in a at home drug test kit and passed. so i went to my drug test about 3 hours later from the drink. and two 3 pisses later. passed the test. i smoked a week ago.

How do you collect fresh fractional urine specimen?

There should be a port at the end of the catheter where the tubing attaches to the catheter bag. Wipe with alcohol and, with a needle and syringe, insert the needle into the port and withdraw 10cc-20cc or so. Without a needle, you can take it from the bag itself, but the sample won't be as pure. You can also disconnect the catheter from the tubing and extract a sample, but this increases infection risk. If so, get a sterile container, wipe the entire area where the catheter meets the tubing with alcohol, put the catheter into the container, and hopefully you'll get about 5cc-10cc. When you reconnect, be very careful not to touch the inside of the catheter. This line runs straight into the person's bladder, and thus is a risk for bladder infection.

An apparatus used to test blood pressure is a?

The technical term for the device is sphygmomanometer, but it can also simply be called a blood pressure meter. The device consists of a inflatable cuff and a mercury or mechanical manometer. It determines at what pressure does blood flow become impeded and at what pressure does blood flow start.

What causes low carbon dioxide levels in infants?

Photosynthetic organisms fixating it (such as plants or purple bacteria), and it dissolving in a liquid (e.g. the sea).

How do you read blood test results?

first of all, a good understanding of how the biochemistry of the body operates is required. However looking at the reference range is a good start, to see what is 'normal.' I use normal in inverted commas as a normal healthy person can have a result outside the reference range and a diseased patient can have a result within the reference range.

If you eat THC does if come out on drug test?

Unfortunately for fans of marijuana everywhere, yes. Unless you can get a prescription for it, if the possibility of a drug test is in your future, you're better off to avoid taking THC by any route.

While I'm not a lawyer, one of the things to remember about medical marijuana is that while it may or may not be legal as far as your State is concerned, the Federal government has not made any allowances for the legalization of medical marijuana.

But to answer your question, yes. A drug test will pick up THC regardless of whether you smoke it or eat it.
