it depends what speed u want for your laptop to operate. say u want 3.2ghz processor then 2.2ghz will be slow for you. i think the latest speed is 3.2ghz in core 2 duo and 3.0 in i7 processors. select your laptop as per your processor speed requirement.

Depends ... advantages over what? If you mean over a desktop computer, you can carry it around easily and it can run on batteries. If you mean over a PDA or smartphone, it has a bigger screen, a bigger keyboard and will run standard computer software.

well, for me as a modern society, i dont have either a laptop or a desktop. but soon i should have. but as a student(information technology) i preferred to use desktop, it is convenient to us to make programs with the use of its keyboard. while on the laptop, it is not easy for typing. yet, laptop can take you anywhere but are you sure ur safe to expose it on the others, maybe it will snatch it. for desktop, it is very safe in your home. the laptop is only 2 gb of memory while on the desktop it was upgraded until to 4 gb of memory. so better to use the desktop.

It is most likely that there is a problem with your power. If your machine is plugged into mains power, check that the plug socket has power, check that your power adapter is okay, check that the power cable into your laptop is okay.

when the system is on sleep, it pauses the download. because the sleep mode is for saving resources like power. so all the stuff goes to suspend mode. the system must be in running mode for downloading. For laptop you can change the setting which says that do not put laptop on sleep when lid is closed.
