Just did it on my 2007. First make sure the trip odometer is set to Trip A. While holding in the odometer reset button, push to engine start button twice (but not with your foot on the brake pedal). After continuing to hold the trip OD button for about 4-5 seconds you'll see the Oil Maintenance Req'd message disappear. Sounds simple.

Your heater core is leaking. The only fix is to replace it. This can at times be a very difficult job. It is easy to remove and replace, but most of the time very hard to gain access to the core. For this reason, you will find that this repair can be fairly expensive, so don't be surprised at what they charge. I also recommend you have them do a complete cooling system service at the same time. Drain, flush, replace the thermostat, heater core, and add the proper amount of coolant. As the car is 12 years old, I would also replace the heater hoses, if they have never been replaced.

There are quite a number of dashboard lights on Lexus ES300. The common ones include handbrake light, check engine, temperature, check oil, battery light and so many others.

The yellow light in the shape of a car with flashing rear lights on the dashboard of your 1998 Lexus ES300 means that you have a tail light that is out. This could be a brake light, turn signal or a reverse light. Have some one look at them while you apply the signal lights. If no one is available, you can back up into a retail strip shopping center that has reflective mirrored window panes. You can activate your signals and look at them in your rearview mirrow. This will tell you which signal light is out. There could be more than one. Check all of them. Headlights on/off, left/right, brakes on/off, car in reverse, etc. Once you determine which signal light is out, you can get a replacement at your local autoparts store and do it yourself or have a local repair shop peform this for you. If you plan on doing the repair your self and have limited experience, I suggest buying a repair manual available from your dealer or most autoparts stores. Autoparts store manual will be less expensive. The listings for all of your dashboard lights and other repairs will be in this manual. 2JZ-GE Engine # Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds before performing any other work. # Remove the engine undercover. # Turn the drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt from the engine. # Disconnect the generator electrical connector. # Remove the rubber cap and nut and then disconnect the alternator wire. # Disconnect the alternator wire clamp from the wire clip on the alternator. # Disconnect the A/T coolant hoses and bracket from the alternator by removing the bolt and pipe clamp. # Remove the alternator bolt, nut, pipe bracket and then remove the alternator from the engine. To install: # Install the alternator and pipe bracket. Torque the bolt and nut to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm). # Install the A/T oil cooler pipes to the alternator and install the bolt and pipe clamp. # Connect the alternator wire clamp to the wire clip on the alternator. # Connect the electrical wire to the alternator and install the nut. # Install the alternator electrical connector. # Install the drive belt. # Install the lower engine cover. # Connect the negative battery cable. # Start the engine and check the charging system for proper operation

From the front of the motor, the cloest bank will be 2 - 4 - 6 from left to right, the rear bank will be 1 - 3 - 5 from left to right, the wire order will be, 5 connects to 2, 1 connects to 4, 3 connects to 6.

pop off the carpet trim from the trunk hatch. there are three 8mm or 10mm nuts that hold the upper license plate trim containing the bulbs. the center one also holds the trunk latch. remove these and pull the whole assembly out. the bulb holder twists out. replace with a 194 bulb. use LED 194 bulb for longer life and brighter light. you can also get different colored bulbs to customize @ www.superbrightleds.com

To install a front marker light, open the hood and look down in the corner next to the headlight. You should see a little silver colored wire with a loop on the end. Pull on the loop and remove it the the lip it rests on. The front parking light/side marker light comes off by pulling the unit forward from outside the car. It may be stuck but it will come off without breaking it. Be sure to put the silver wire back on the lip after changing the bulb. You do that by pulling on the wire loop. This is the only thing that holds the unit on the car. The side marker light is the small bulb on the side. I think the bulb number is 194. The factory one is amber but a clear will work as the side part of the lens is amber. .

no it is actually impossible. these both the cars look alike, size is almost the same but there would at least a bit of difference in the interior of both the cars.

I can't tell for sure but the ac has a drain that goes through the floor under the dash on the passenger side. this can become clogged and cause the water that is created by the air conditioner to run under the carpet and into the rear floor which is the lowest point. the smell can be caused by meldew. There is a drain tube that is visable under the car hat you can run a small wire up into and clean it out but be careful and don't poke too hard as to damage the coil.

The entire headlight assembly must come out to access. Usually there are three plastic clips per side.
