How do you change the air filter on a 1996 Avalon?

on the drivers side of the engine compartment there is a rectangular black plastic box. it has 4 clips near the corners. the clips are easily pushed off the tabs on the top of the box. once this is done, pulling up on the box exposes the filter. grab the filter, pull it out and install the new one in its place. Make sure you haven't pulled a hose loose at the back. Wrestling the top cover off the filter might pull one off the back behind the cover. They easily slip back on if you do.

My check air suspension on my 1995 Lincoln town car comes on after the pump comes on for a few seconds yet the suspension is still low. What do I look for to fix it?

You have to replace the Rear suspension Airbags.

start up the car and let the pump run, then when the signal comes on "check air suspension" turn the car off and listen at the rear wheels for sound of air escaping. if you u hear any air escaping u need to replace the bags. also the height sensor can cause this problem if its not working correctly. its a small plastic plunger located in the middle of the rear axel

The air bags on this can be expensive. You can save a lot of money buy converting the air to a non air suspension. Strutmasters.com offers conversion kits for many vehicles including Town Cars. I replaced the ride on my moms Town Car about 2 years ago. She loved it. I say away with the air and give them a call.

Where is bank 1 located in a Lincoln navigator 2002?

Oxygen Sensor

There are actually (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. If you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far.

When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat).

Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions.

You will need;

Oxygen Sensor Socket

Anti-Seized

Penetrating Oil

If everything else fells there always heat. Heat them up and they will come right off.

Sometimes it will take 15 minutes or take a few hours it depends on your luck…
