When draining a pool take care that there isn't enough ground water around the outside of the pool to lift it out of position, even a concrete pool will float on ground water. and once they are lifted out of the ground you are in big trouble.

I'm a master plumber, and my cousin is a brick layer. I make about 90k a year and he only gets 40k a year. It depends on where you work, who you work for, and also your base wage. I'm a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local 4 Southern California. I lay brick and block, set tile, marble and granite. I am a certified welder. And I have also worked with fire brick. As of 2007 the current "on check" hourly rate for a BAC local 4 journeyman in Los Angeles is $34.07.(With benefits it's about $45/hour) This works out with holidays and other time off to between $65,000 and 70,000 per year for a 40 hour week. With fire brick you quite often work 84 hours in a week ("7 12's"). That's $4054.33 gross in one week. Plumbers usually do not have the opportunity to work that much overtime and on top of all that the current wage for a journeyman plumber is $25.53/ hour*. That's $53102.40 if there were no days off. I may be biased, but you can't argue facts.
