What are periods like after stopping combination birth control pills?
The type of birth control used will determine how first the periods resume after leaving the method. Emergency pills only cover someone for three days while a Norplant may alter a period cycle by up to 3 weeks.
No, this will be normal period.
Can you skip your period naturally?
The answer previously given is false. Birth control CAN be used to purposely miss a period. In fact, some women are prescribed birth control for that purpose. It's recommended that you only do this with mono-phasic pills (pills which have the same hormone levels every day of the month) and not tri-phasic pills (which have fluctuating hormone levels depending on the week). Basically, when you get to the end of the "active" pills of the pack, you immediately start taking the "active" pills of a new pack and skip the week of placebo pills altogether. This prevents you from having a "period", which is really just a withdrawal bleed from the lack of hormones when you're taking the placebo pills. It's important to remember that if you plan to do this continuously (and not just once for something like a honeymoon), you should still allow your body a withdrawal bleed once every three months. I can tell you from personal experience, there's a good chance that if you don't allow these withdrawal bleeds, your body will flush it out anyway. I went six months without having a period (on purpose) and now I'm having dark brown spotting because my body is flushing out all the old blood and lining from the past 6 months. It's nothing harmful, but certainly unpleasant. You should also bear in mind that, for many women, skipping the placebo pills doesn't always work to prevent all bleeding, and you may still have some light spotting, especially in the first few months of an extended-cycle regimen. Hope this helps!
You can try to skip your period on the birth control pill by going straight from the active pills of one pack to the active pills of the next pack, without the seven day break. There is no increased risk of pregnancy from doing so, and no limit on how many times you can do it. However, you may have spotting or unscheduled bleeding.
Instead of taking the reminder pills go straight to a new pack. Just dont make a habit of it
You just get a new pack of pills, dont take your sugar pills and start the new pack of pills instead.
You can just start a new pack of pills on the day your supposed to take the reminder pills. I do this every other month or when i don't feel like dealing with a period.
If you are on a BCP with 21 active pills and 7 inactive or another combination of pills with a hormone free week - you skip the inactive pills and go straight to the new packet the day after your last active pill in the first pack.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist which style of pill you are taking, some pills are designed to stop your period - so starting the new packet too soon or skipping pills will cause break through bleeding.
You can skip a period on the pill by skipping your last week of "inactive" pills in your pill pack. Instead of taking your "inactive" pills, you start taking your first week of the next month's pill pack. However, I had a friend do this and the next month, her period was twice as bad. I'm not sure if this happens to all women who choose this option.
Change your tampons every 4-6 hours, or sooner if they leak before then.
Tampons need to be changed often because otherwise you give bacteria longer to multiply while also preventing vaginal cleaning, thus there is a higher risk of vaginal infections and TSS. If you find you are leaking within 1-2 hours you can use the next absorbency up safely. If the tampon isn't saturated with blood after 4-6 hours use lower absorbency or switch back down to pads.
Would light brown spotting on day 17 of your menstrual cycle be implantation bleeding?
yes it could if you've had a positive pregnancy test, could be low progesterone levels needing supplement or threatened miscarriage I'd ask my doctor to draw a progesterone level, I did the same and had to miscarry my first before the doctor checked. they usually want "history" which i think is crazy.

If you conceive a few days before your period is scheduled to start would you miss your period?
Yes, you will miss your period. If you are pregnant, you will not have a period.
But you are unlikely to conceive a few days before a period. Most women ovulate 14 days before a period and this is the only time you can conceive. and 'a few days before' the ovum has already gone so cannot be fertilised.
You can definitely conceive a few days before your period! You can conceive at any time - the ideal is during ovulation but you can still conceive at any time!!!
No, you will always ovulate 14 days before your period, no matter how long your cycle is. The egg will have already died at this stage because it wasn't fertillised.

Can you use water to lubricate a tampon?
No - the tampon would absorb the water making it more difficult to insert, and water isn't a good lubricant as it isn't slippery. It's best to use lubricants like KY jelly which although water-based will largely stay on the suface of the tampon rather than being absorbed. Another option would be to use natural oils like olive oil or coconut oil.

How do you get rid of bad cramps?
ANSWER 1
Well, it is very hard to CONTROL cramps. But you can prevent them. Try rubbing your hands everyday at least twice a day, if not more. If you can, ask you doctor or orthopedist to prescribe you some medication. However, if you are Jehovah Witness, you will not go for that, but that is probably the best route. You can try a medicated patch or lotion, like Icy Hot, but a prescription drug is probably better.
ANSWER 2
you should prob try to make it so that there is a direct sirculation for the blood to flow that should help.

Are you supposed to wear tampons while swimming?
No, you don't need to wear a tampon while swimming during menstruation.
You can use any of the following options:
Menstrual cups are the best option as they're internal but safer so unlike tampons they can be worn even with light flow, and they can be worn for up to 12 hours - menstrual cups also don't absorb water, don't increase cramps, no string to show, and don't leak like tampons or sponges can.
It is a myth that your period stops in water.
Sit in a shallow bath during heavy flow and you will see that it doesn't - it can sometimes look like it stops because during light flow what little blood leaves your body will be diluted in the water, heavier flow and uterine tissue may be noticed and may leak down your leg once you get out the water. Although menstrual blood isn't dirty no one wants to swim in your blood.
How to make your period come sooner?

If you're using the correct absorbency they really don't feel like anything. If you're wearing one that's overly absorbent it feels similar to the way it feels when the dentist sticks gauze in your mouth after dental surgery - minus the pain.
Why would a woman get her period twice in a month?
This is quite common. You may have mutli-cystic ovaries, or other sitiuations (that are not a worry) could be going on, such as; you might have been pregnant and had a miscarriage (very common, most women miscarry 3-4 times before they actually get truly pregnant). You may also just have had spotting. If this continues, see a doctor and ask if going on the birth control pill might help as it often settles down bleeding and periods into single events.
I'm a doctor
What to do when you are in pain in your period?
well first when you start your period it might be really heavy or really light but if it is heavy use a comfortable tampon for you in the day. usually for first timers you should use a pad then go to tampons when it gets really heavy that is what I did but do not and I am saying this to protect you do not use a tampon day and night it will give you a disease called tss it is from having in a tampon for too long so just don't do that. ok back to tampons and pads, use a tampon in the day and change it about every 4 hours then you can switch to a pad at night if it is really heavy double up on pads if you have to.

What if you haven't had a period in 3 years?
Depending on your age you might be going through menapause or if you are on a birth control you would want to check in on the "side affects" part of it. If neither of these options apply to you then you might seriously consult with your doctor b/c your body not releasing on these specified days could cause serious health issues.
I just started my period. What do i need to do or know?
If you have told your parents then they will probably get you the necessary sanitary towels (pads) or tampons. If you worry about it then just research about it on the net. They are hundreds of websites for kids with puberty issues. That's what I did :)
