Can hcg drop to nearly 0 after a miscarriage but then continue to rise?
hCG is detected in blood and urine a few days after the embryo implants in the uterus. It continues to rise throughout the first trimester when it levels off and drops following childbirth.
In a pregnancy loss it takes 2 to 6 weeks to return to <5 - 0 (normal, non pregnant state), depending how far into the pregnancy you were.
A rise in hCG may mean you are pregnant again, see your doctor for an exam and/or ultrasound.
What happens after misscariage?
It is the same as giving birth, but with no baby.
Doctors will usually ask you to remain in hospital for further examination.
Then you'll be allowed to go home.
Depressed and sad.
Some women seek psychotherapy and or spiritual advise.
Does levaquin cause miscarriages?
Antibiotics are not recommended when pregnant because it can affect the fetus (not miscarriage) but sometimes it has to be taken. Your doctor will decide which one you can take if you need it.
How are miscarriage and still birth similar?
Miscarriage and stillbirth both involve the loss of a pregnancy, but they occur at different stages. A miscarriage typically happens before the 20th week of gestation, while a stillbirth occurs after that point when a fetus is no longer viable. Both experiences can lead to profound emotional and psychological effects on the parents, as they involve the loss of a hoped-for child. Additionally, both situations may raise questions about the causes and the future of pregnancy for the parents involved.
My dr. told me you can start trying to conceive right away after a miscarriage as you are most fertile then. The problem they (the dr.'s) have with it is that it may be hard to determine how far along you would be in your new pregnancy. As long as you feel ready to start trying again there really is no medical reason you should wait. I had a miscarriage mar. of this year and this is what my dr. told me
I feel for you!! I am not saying this is what is happening to you..as I am no Doctor, but these same simptoms happened to me when I was about 5-6wks prego. I thought these were normal pregnancy symptoms so I did not think anything of it, plus I was awaiting my 1st OB visit to verify I truly was pregnant. Anyway...I ended up having a natural miscarriage when I was 7wks and 2days prego. This was my first pregnancy and not a good experience! It has been hard to cope with. I just keep telling myself that there was something wrong with the baby and it was better that it happened this early than later on.
I really hope this doesn't happen to you, but I wanted to share my story. My husband and I are TTC now and hope this time will be more of a happy ending.
Best of luck to you and hope you feel better. Keep taking care of yourself and everything will turn out fine.
Why does it take a long time to recover from anemia caused by blood loss?
Because it may take time for the body to build up the lost iron reserves.
Methergine is used to cause the uterus to contract in order to stop or lessen uterine bleeding after the birth of a baby, after an abortion, or for other reasons as your doctor sees neccessary.
What does it usually mean when you've been spotting for a week in very early pregnancy at 3 weeks?
Rest and don't carry anything over a gallon of milk. Things will settle. Spotting and light bleeding is not always an indication of miscarriage. It's more a reflection of surging hormones. good luck joymaker rn
How do you know if you have an infection after miscarriage?
Pain, bad smell, smelly discharge, sometimes bleeding and fever etc.
It could be. You should always seek a doctor when something that out of the ordinary happens.
Will not eating while pregnant kill the baby?
eventually and yourself too. I mean you would have to not eat for months for that to happen. eventually and yourself too. I mean you would have to not eat for months for that to happen.
Have you had a full-scale workup to determine why you had a miscarriage? It is not always clear why a woman has a miscarriage so your doctor may be basically telling you the truth as he/she knows it. Three miscarriages in such a short time seems unlikely to be just bad luck to me though. If you feel your doctor is not taking you seriously or has not done a complete exam to determine why you miscarried you probably should consider a second opinion. There seems to be an epidemic of doctors now days, who just don't seem to give a damn but I don't know if that is the case with your doctor or not.
Your best chance for a healthy birth and preventing miscarriage is if you are between 18 and 30. Don't drink or smoke. Breath pure air and drink pure water (hard to do in a city). Eat nutritious organic foods. Stay away from toxins and pollution as much as possible. I know that isn't easy in our modern world. Try to avoid stress if you can. Mediation with soothing music can really help with this. A vitamin supplement for women may also be of help.
Herbal treatments:
Black Cohosh and Dong Quai contain plant estrogens that can help balance hormonal fluctuations, (if that is what your problem is). Macafem nutrients help restore natural hormones in women. Most health food stores have such herbs. Herbal treatments are normally quite safe in spite of what the pharmaceutical companies and there pals at the FDA would have you believe, however, some people can react to them. I would advise taking small doses till you know how you are going to handle them. If you don't over do these there shouldn't be a problem. If they don't help in a few months you probably should discontinue them.
Additional info:Instead of a GP (General Practitioner), you should see an OB-GYN, who will be more qualified to properly diagnose and treat the cause of the miscarriages. Not to say your GP is not a good doctor, but it seems as if your GP is in a bit over his head in this area, and not willing to admit it. S/he should have already referred you to an OB-GYN, who specialize in problems such as yours.Since you've already had two successful pregnancies, there could be some hormal problems going on, or possibly something wrong with your uterus, ovaries, etc. Have your periods been regular?
To have had three miscarriages in five months can take a huge toll on your body, so I would advise you to give your body a rest, and not even try to get pregant for a few months, for your sake, as well as that of the baby, should you conceive again.
As for the answer above suggesting herbal treatments and supplements, you should never take any herbal supplements or remedies of any kind without first talking to your ob-gyn about it. Most of the herbal supplements are not FDA regulated, and you could possibly cause serious harm to your unborn child, as well as to yourself. There have been many serious health problems, and even deaths, caused by some of these herbal supplements and remedies.
also doc said to see him again in a week
Is it possible to be 10 weeks pregnant with no yolk sac and no embryo?
No, by this stage the fetus should be clearly visible. The yolk sac is visible from 5 weeks.
Are you pregnant if you are bleeding brown blood?
If you are pregnant you don't bleed, and blood turns brown when it's dry, I suggest you get a pregnancy test.
Make an appointment at the doctor tomorrow so they can see if you had a miscarriage. If you did and not everything is out they have to scrape the uterus so you don't get infections.
If you have a miscarriage does the umbilical cord stay inside you?
Depends. If the placenta comes out as well the umbilical coed is attached to it. if it's just the fetus, no unless the cord let go of the placenta. You always have to go and get checked afterwards.
im 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant and about two days ago i had a gush of watery blood and then brown spotting after that. i called the doctor scared but they said as long as it didnt happen more than once and the spotting is brown you should be fine. if it shows your baby is fine then you shouldn't worry. from what i have read and hear spotting is common and even some bleeding can be fine, not always, but in any case you should report to your doctor. good luck.
Does anyone know the answer to this question cause I am some what in the same thing?
Does white discharge mean miscarriage?
well you could google information on miscarriage but as far as i understand when you miscarriage it is similar to your period only heavier than usual and late.. so no it could just be normal discharge or it could be an STD..
You need to get to call your doctor immediately and see if he wants you to go to the ER, it sounds like a miscarraige. Bleeding like a period is one of the definite signs that your body has passed a bad embryo (or even if the embryo was healthy, your body may have some reason for rejecting it).
AnswerUnfortunately a scan beforehand doesn't mean all is well now. You need another scan. I hope all is well. How do you tell the difference between a miscarriage and a threatened miscarriage?
A miscarriage means you have definitely lost the baby, there is usually lots of cramping and clots. A threatened miscarriage means just that, you are still pregnant but may miscarry in the future. Any spotting while pregnant can be called a threatened miscarriage and many women go on to have healthy babies. If you still have signs of pregnancy like swollen and sore breasts it is probably just a threatened miscarriage. Most doctors will order an ultrasound scan to tell for sure. I should think that a blood test (Quantitative HCG) would be more reliable than ultrasound. Levels are decreased in the case of miscarriage, threatened &/incomplete abortion, & if the fetus is dead.
This sounds like a threatened miscarriage. You should not be having clots during pregnancy or bleeding. Go to ER and ask for a quantitative beta hcg blood test.
I am going through exactly the same thing, I started spotting and went into the Dr. I am 9 weeks preggy, unless my dates are wrong and the baby only measured 6 weeks 1 day with no heartbeat i have to go back in on friday, i am still spotting has this happened to anyone before what was the outcome?
