no problem in using synthetic oils as lubricant for this model.. but i myself use virgin oil. for me it is better for older car models.. i dont think there is a problem doing so - synthetic oil is just a lubricant like standard oil. How do you change the oxygen sensor on a 2003 Mitsubishi lancer?
OXYGEN SENSORS ARE DETECTING WHAT IS LEFT AFTER IN THE EXHAUST. I DON'T PERSONALY KNOW YOUR CAR BUT YOU SHOULD LOOK ON THE EXHAUST AFTER THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CLOSE T0 THE FIREWALL. IT WONT BE WAY DOWN THE EXHAUST PIPE BUT SHOULD BE ACCESSABLE FROM UNDER THE CAR. NOTE YOU SHOULD SEE ONE WIRE THAT IS GOING TO IT.
There are 2 sensors one right in the engine compartment on the exhaust anifold(this is a one piece exhaust manifold/Catalyic converter) there is another under the car on the top of the exhaust pipe (facing the seats) right after the engine.
the one in the engine compartment has a clip connector so just remove that and get a special oxygen sensor socket tool, the one on the underside of the car has the wiring going into the car, if its a universal sensor you prob have to cut the wires and follow instructions on correct wiring color codes, but if you have the one piece with the clip you need to take out the seat inside the car and unplug the sensor and drop through the opening which has a rubber seal, then use an open end wrench to take off the sensor, its a little tricky if you dont have high lifts or any lifts.
