How do you install a cigarette lighter in a 95 Oldsmobile Aurora?

Why would a 95 Olds Aurora sometimes say 'clean key-wait 3 minutes' when you try to start it?

Your key probally has a chip in the key (a little black chip with silver in the middle) Take a pencil eracer and rub both sides of the chip. the wait three minuets is part of a security system. * I had that exact same problem. drove me crazy! I took my car to the dealership "morgan pontiac" for took look at it. They blamed my remote start and that they wanted to disconnect it to run more test but they would have to charge me $85 at first but i told them it did once before, prior to my remote start. they continued to check my car repeatedly. then they finally figured out it was my "ignition lock cylinder" and it had to be replaced. it would cost $500! Brake-O did for around three hundred and i got two fresh keys cut. The only problem i had with them is that they disconnected my remote start and didn't tell me. After confronting them they said that it contributed to my car acting up. I told the professionals that installed my remote start and they said that was bulls***. They said that would hook it back up for only $35.

How do you change an alternator in a 2001 Oldsmobile intrigue?

ITs a bit of a pain.

The book tells you to take apart the suspension but who wants to do that so I will give you what I think is an easier version.

Quick version.

Remove both cross braces (strut tower to the upper radiator core support).

Remove air cleaner box and tube.

Remove the upper engine torque mount bracket and remove it from the radiator core support.

Remove the battery and the battery tray.

Remove the radiator and condenser fan assembly.

Remove the battery wires and clips from the alternator.

Drain the overflow bottle.

Remove the overflow bottle nuts and set it aside / to the back a bit.

Remove the nut holding the fuse junction block and set it to the back a bit.

Use a wire if you need to tie back the overflow and the fuse block out of the way of the belt.

Use a ½ inch drive ratchet on the belt tenchoner and remove the serpentine belt.

Alternator has 3 bolts 2 on the side of it or the front of the motor and one on the front of it / side of the motor.

Remove the idler pulley next to the alternator this is bolt one.

Loosen both side bolts don't remove yet.

Messy part.

Remove the water neck / thermostat housing and lower radiator hose.

Alternator will not come out without taking this off.

Pull it back out of the way.

Finnish taking the front bolts out.

You can now slide the alternator out to the side and up the battery area.

It is tight but will come out.

You should not have to replace the gasket on your thermostat housing.

However be careful putting it back on do it evenly.

80 inch lbs (6.67ft lbs) to hold it on. It's not that much just good and snug.

IF you got that far you should be able to put it all back right.

:P

How do you change the serpentine belt on a 1995 olds aurora?

Find the idler pully of the serpentine belt system. It is usually the one that appears to not "drive" any system and is normally located towards the top of the other pullys. On the idler pully assembly, you will find a bolt (not the bolt in center of pully or the one at the pivot point of assembly). Using the correct sized socket and a large ratchet (or wrench) as a lever, pull or push the idler pully assembly, which is spring tensioned, until the pully moves in far enough to get new belt on. Slowly release tension until belt is tight against the idler pully under the assembly's spring tension. Be sure belt is properly seated on all pullys without any twists.

Where is the water pump located on a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora and how hard is it to change the gasket?

Facing engine, on right side . It will be attached to a radiator hose leading to the thermostat. To the left of the pump will be a small belt and tension pulley that drives it. You will need 10mm socket for housing removal and a special socket tool ( about 3" in diam. that can be rented or loaned through Auto Zone car stores. About an hour and a half working time. Good luck.

98 Aurora owner.

Just replaced my water pump. Got an estimate from a garage, 340 bucks? I bought the pump (new pump) 57.99 and I bought the special socket for 21.00. Took me less than an hour from start to finish. Amazingly simple water pump to change. The hose clamps are a bit strong and were the most difficult item to remove. Had to use a very large pair of channel locks to get them off.

Where do you find the radiator cap in order to remove it and add radiator sealant on a 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora?

: The overflow cap (radiator cap) is on top of the tank that sits on top of the dr. side fender under the hood.some of the newer cars do not have a "radiator cap" it goes in to the overflow tank . i would not suggest using radiator stop leak because it can clog up the radiator and heater core on the car if you must use it only as a last resort.
