Why does my 1994 coupe with a VIN P engine run hot at idle?

What is "Hot at idle?" Anyway, if the cooling fan IS functioning and she's still runiing on the high end of the scale, you can get a new part that fits between the wiring harness to the fan to let the fan kick on at a lower temperature. The kit comes with a new sending unit as well. It's not too expensive and solved the prob;lem for me. Mid-America, Ekler's and others stock this kit. Cooling fan not functioning. change you thermostat to a low temp. 160'mine did the same thing and this solved the problem for about $10.00

How do you disconnect the horn on a 1996 jeep Ranger when it keeps going off when you turn the wheel?

I am not familiar with the Jeep Ranger model. I think you mean Jeep Wrangler which started its' poduction run in 1987-1996 reconfigured in 1997- present. I'm not if you have a driver's side air-bag on yours. If not you need to remove the horn cap and see if any part of the horn assembly is making metal to metal contact as you turn the wheel. If you cannot see any contact being made you will have to remove the steering wheel. For this task you will need a steering wheel puller tool. It gets a bit more complicated as you dig deeper into the steering wheel innards. Good luck. If what you are asking is how to make the horn stop honking till you get it fixed .. There is a plug on the back of the horn under the hood.. Just unplug it till you get the steering column problem fixed..

What is the recommended tire pressure for a 92 Honda accord?

The vehicles recommended tire pressure is in the drivers front or rear drivers door jamb and in your owners manual. The pressure on the side of the tire only tells you the maximum amount of pressure that the tire can safely handle. That figure is not the recommended tire pressure.

When should you replace timing belt on 1996 Toyota Celica GT?

Every 60,000 miles, according to both corroborating online sources cited below, http://www.familycar.com/carcare/GatesFrame.htm http://autorepair.about.com/od/glossary/ss/timin-belt-inf2_7.htm However, since the 96 Celica has a non-interference engine*, a broken timing belt will not damage your engine as it would on these makes and models of Toyotas: TOYOTA

1986-95 1.5L Tercel

1981-83 2.2L Pickup

1984-87 2.4L Pickup

1982-88 2.8L Celica Cressida

1987-94 3.0L 4-Runner

http://www.rebuiltautoengines.com/toyota-celica-articles.html So unless you were having other problems, your worst case scenario is the car would just stop running and you would have to get it towed in to get the timing belt replaced. But if you're having the timing belt replaced, or if your having any kind of an oil leak, you might want to price having these items addressed because the the extra labor cost should be negligible since they would already be in there replacing the timing belt. Crankshaft Front Oil Seal

Camshaft Seal

Oil Pump Gasket/O-Ring

Oil Pump Seal

Valve Cover Gasket Spark Plug Tube Seals (have a little oil in one tube)

Oil Pan Gasket

...and possibly change the Water Pump and Thermostat ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *If the timing belt breaks on a non-interference design, there is enough clearance between the pistons and valves to prevent damaging contact. An interference design does not have sufficient clearance between those parts and engine damage would result from a broken timing belt.

Where can you find a fuse box diagram for a 1982 VW Fox Cabriolet?

To my knowledge there never was a 1982 VW Fox cabby, Foxes were imported from Brazil starting in 1987.

In the US I remember test driving a VW Fox wagon just before I bought my 1986 Hyundai Excel. Should have bought the Fox. And as far as I can remember, there was never a convertible Fox. Just a coupe, sedan and wagon.

VW Fox

Where is the thermostat located on a 1989 VW Fox 1.8 4-cylinder?

it is real easy to find---first look at the water pump (under the alternator) follow the water hose to the engine block--take off the connection and there it is Not correct, follow the lower radiator hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing. 2 10 mm bolts hold the hose bib cover on, inside the housing is the thermostat.

How do you change the starter on a 1991 VW Fox?

On my 93 fox, I jacked up the front end and supported it. Then disconnect the battery before you do anything else. Then you can see the starter on the passenger side of the engine from looking underneath. There are 2 wires that go to the starter, disconnect both wires, then unbolt the starter from the bellhousing, replace with new one and hook up your wires, then hook up battery and you;re good to go! Good luck!

How do you set the timing on a 1989 VW Fox?

You can set it by ear by loosening the distributor hold down bolt and turning the distributor slowly back and forth with the car running until it sounds like it is running better. Or you can remove the 27mm hex plug on top of the transmission to reveal the timing marks and hook up an inductive timing light and set it that way.

What is the recommended tire pressure for a VW Fox?

Recommended tire pressures can be found on the tires themselves. You'll have to look closely, though. Black on black can be difficult to read. Additionally, you can jot down the brand, the model and the size of your tire and call a good tire shop and they'll tell you right on the phone. So can the dealer. If you're on the road and happen by a big tire shop on your travels, they'll almost certainly check and properly inflate your tires at no charge (their motivation being that they might be able to "win you over" and get you to come to them when you need repairs or replacements). Proper tire pressure maximizes gas mileage, and it is safer to drive on them when they're at the correct pressure. But you knew that already.

I have the same trouble with my 95 pasant wagon with vr6 the book said remove the dash and steering wheel, this is nuts and their should be a better way. I solved the trouble with Bars Leak for about 90 days but now I must replace the heater core.

Is it hard to change a shift cable on a VW Fox?

It is tricky to change the clutch cable. There is a clip that holds it on the clutch pedal and it hooks over the clutch arm down by the bellhousing on the other end. The clutch arm is fairly easy to access and remove the cable from the engine compartment. The clutch pedal end took a little while. I had to undo the fuse box and let it hang to acces the pedal arm. The cable hooks on this end also, but has a little clip that holds it on the arm. Once the cable is unfastened from the arm, you can pull it out through the firewall. Installation went better than removal for me, a little adjusting after its in and youre all set! Good luck!

Do you need to replace timing belt on 2001 A4 Audi Quattro 2.8 with 48k miles and when should it be done?

Follow your manufacturer's recommendations. If you don't have them, check with the dealer. Most cars seem to need it at about 70,000 miles. A trusted mechanic could also check it for wear.
