How do you make bunraku puppets?

This depends on what you mean by 'bunraku'. The traditional bunraku puppet made only by the Japanese is somewhat of an insider's secret. There are no books, patterns or tutorials online that you can use to make them; they simply do not exist as far as I know. At any rate, a traditional one is way too complicated for new puppet makers or school-aged people.

However, many people confuse the term 'bunraku' with the more Westernised table-top puppet (which uses similar concepts as bunraku and is almost the 'child' of bunraku in a way), and there are plenty of table-top tutorials and patterns out there. (Bunraku is the official name for 'ningyo joruri', the Japanese puppetry - only those who have permission may use the term 'bunraku' in Japan)

Some info is here on both bunraku and table-top puppets. The second link is a tutorial for a table-top puppet, which is very easy to do (print, cut, fold, and glue; you're done!):

How do you make a telescope out of a paper towel roll?

Get a small, powerful magnifying glass and a large, weaker, magnifying glass. hold the powerful one near your eye and look at a distant object. I will be blurry. Hold the weaker one about 10 cm in front of the powerful one. adjust the distance between the two until the image is crisp. it will be magnified. get a friend to measure the distance between the two. cut the tube to the length your friend measures and tape the powerful one to one end and the weaker to the other. hold the tube end with the powerful one to your eye and look at a distant object.

Good luck!

How do you create a many page A5 booklet and then put it together?

If you're printing it, you first need to change the page set up to landscape. Then create two identically sized text frames which will sit one on either side of the page, & save this as a document template. Then add as many pages of this template as you need, bearing in mind that each 'page' is actually going to become two pages of the booklet - for it to work properly, you need an even number of pages that is divisible by four. Say you want a 20-page booklet, with page 1 being the front cover, & page 20 the back cover; so these two pages would be created on the same side of the same sheet of paper, with page 1 in the right-hand text frame, & page 20 in the left. On the reverse of this sheet you would print pages 2 & 19, with 2 now on the left, & 19 on the right. Now work inwards, with odd-numbered pages always on right, & even on left: p. 3 on right & 18 on left; back this sheet with 4 on left & 17 on right. Your final page would have p. 12 on left & 9 on right, backed with 10 & 11. Once you've printed them all, fold each in half, with the lowest numbered page always going on outside i.e. pages 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9. Once assembled, staple all the pages together along the fold. Depending on what program you use, you could probably find instructions & a template for this somewhere in the 'help' files. I know it used to be fairly easy to find in M$ Publisher, but I no longer have this one.

How do you make a paper mache tunnel for a train?

I'd start by cutting an old Nestle's Quick box, tennis ball can, Crystal light can or similar in half lengthwise and securing it to the layout with glue. Be sure it's big enough for your train to run under it.

Mix flour and water into a thick paste. cut strips of newspaper or similar paper, dip it in and start laying it where you want the mountain, right on top of the can.

Do only one layer then let it dry before adding the next layer or you'll experience the joys of mold growth.

How do you turn white paper yellow?

Some paper has a high amount of lignin. Lignin is part of a tree. When it is exposed to oxygen and sunlight for a long period of time, it turns yellow along with the paper.

Unless you have dye, than you can't "make" paper yellow instantly.

But you can drown it in coke but it won't do much.

Does the brand of paper towel affect the amount of water it absorbs?

Yes. Different brands use different methods for creating the paper towels, both in what ingredients are used, how thick the towels are, and how they are treated (as in chemical treatment, not being nice to them). These factors all have an effect on the absorbency of the towel.
