At that time, this beautiful city had many tourist attractions including: many budist temples, Thi Boxing matches, demonstrations of Karate and Judo, many jewelry stores, tailor shops and clothing stores. At the time, prices for jewelry were much lower than in most other countries. The availability of silk fabric was much greater than elseware in SE Asia, and a suit of clothes from this fabric could be hand-made for less than the cost to buy one "off the rack" at a retail store. The Thei people were beautiful and charming, and the city had much modern architecture. I found the city to be clean and very attractive.
