it says in manual that its behind the steering column only if its not a automatic

in the engine compartment fuse box

50 % water to anti freeze mix its about 8 liters in a 406 so 4liters of anti freeze 4 liters of water

If you dont have your 4 digit code it cant be done. You'l have to take it to a peugeot dealer and your looking at 300 upwards to put it rite. I have the same problem.

It indicates a fault between the key and the immobiliser.

Usually a faulty key.

I have the same problem, the washer fuse keeps blowing. I think the problem will be the wiring connection to the motor and to get at it I guess it means removing the inner wheel arch

Drain coolant. Refill with correct water anti freeze mix

if its a diesel, you need the additive tank topping up. - ain't cheap!! some kind of chemical. car will run ok, but it will lrad to other problems in time.

The only time my car shows an antipollution fault is if it runs out of diesel, once refueled, the fault shows for a few miles then just goes. If the fault is there permanently and your car hasn't run out of fuel recently then I suggest getting it looked at.

Got a 406 hdi and found the fault with the anti pollution lies within the mass air flow unit. SOLUTION. Remove the mass air flow unit and using a soft bristle brush and some petrol clean the unit completely ensuring not to break the electrodes inside and making sure you clean the mess grid. This will prolong the life of the mass air flow unit. Done this on a few other Peugot's and had great success. On my own done it once so far and never had the problem back since. (year and half ago)........................

Peugeot 406 HDI diesel 01.Pop out plastic screw cover from hand well on door. Remove screw ,requires a multi spline key. Lift out complete unit lifting first from hand well end, then lift unit at front end. Disconnect brown & black wire blocks then slide the red end of large block out this releases the block as there is a groove release on the red slider. All is now will notice there is a base circuit held on with plastic securing lugs. Carefully release and prise each one to release the complete circuit board.One the reverse side you will find 4 switch large green circular rubber toggle pad for electric mirrors.Two single activation switches for left window (white in colour with one grey pin for activation of window up/down) Next a blue rubber pad with two holes & one hole held with retaining plastic pins. Remove this use some industrial or Meths spitits to clean metal contacts.Then clean carbon contacts imbedded in rubber toggle pad. Reassemble making sure to place the blue rubber pad down onto the retaining pins. Then replace base circuit evenly back into switch base. Click home Hey Presto your window operates again. This of course is assuming it's the drivers window has failed.

The fuse chart should be in the interior fuse box. It is located on the left side of the dash, open the drivers door for access to it. Remove the cover on the far left side of the dash, (it is just clipped in) then the fuse chart should be in there.

I HAVE A 1998 C230 AND I DO NOT HAVE A FUSE BOX INSIDE MY CAR. THE MAIN FUSE BOX IS BY THE FIREWALL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE UNDER THE HOOD. THERE IS ALSO AN AUX FUSE BOX IN THE TRUCK THAT SITS NEAR THE SPARE TIRE.

Cambelt, best to get a kit. also think of replacing water pump and lower crank pulley at the same time..and v belt for alternator.

It's inside the ECU box under the hood.
