How do you replace a bulb in the clock of a Peugeot 406?
Been looking for info on this.
Got bored waiting and got stuck in (1997 model).
Get two screw drivers, stick one in between the clock and the dash at the top and another at the bottom.
Lever the clock unit out gently.
Unplug the clock unit connector at the back of the clock.
On the side of the clock unit is a screw, which is the back of the bulb.
Give it a quarter turn to release it (don't give it more than that, as the plastic will have become quite brittle over time and will crumble if you give it more).
The bulb can then be pulled out (pliers or gentle screw driver work to lever it out).
Insert new bulb and refit the clock.
Hope that helps.
Where is the heated mirror switch on a peugeot 406?
I have a 1996 406 GLX. Although both mirrors have heated symbols printed on them there is no switch as such like you would have for the rear window. This may be an addition on the Rapier and Executive models. The mirrors do defrost when the front screen heater is in use as hot air is diverted through the side of the dash. 2001 diesel estate HDI works when you switch rear screen heater on and after 10 mins both switch off

Change a servo on Peugeot 406?
I used this process on my 2002 406 HDI Rapier 2ltr as my pedal became hard to press and took a few seconds for the pedal to depress enough for the brakes to work.
Be sure that it is the servo that needs replacing before you go down that route, first make sure that the vac pump is working and that none of the vac hoses are leaking, a faulty vac pump is by far easier to replace than a servo. Should it be determined that it is deffinately the servo than you are in for a tough job. firstly clear the area by removing air ducts and the throttle housing. Before removing the 2 hydraulic pipes from the master cylinder i would either have some rubber bungs to hand to plug the holes or drain the tank on the master cyliner or you are in for a mess. once you have removed the master cylinder you need to remove the 4 bolts at the back of the servo and they are very tricky, i used ratchet spanners with flexible heads on (from Aldi) and they were perfect for reaching in and removing the top 2 bolts. then jack up front near side (passenger side) and secure with an axle stand and remove the front near side (passenger side) wheel, this will allow to to gain access to the bottome 2 bolts from underneath, you will have to pop off a plastic cover from under the servo mount. You can then access the 2 bolts and securing pin. So long as all air ducts have been removed the servo should pull freely away, reverse the process for refitting and then bleed the brakes through. Expect alot of spanner rash from this as there are alot of tight spaces.

To test the heater motor in a Peugeot 406, start by checking the fuse associated with the heater system to ensure it's not blown. Next, disconnect the motor's electrical connector and use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the connector while the heater is turned on; there should be a voltage reading if the circuit is functioning correctly. If the voltage is present but the motor does not run, the motor likely needs to be replaced. If there is no voltage, further investigation into the switch or wiring may be necessary.
