It is down to a faulty earth connection behind the airbag.Disconnect the battery and then wait 1/2 an hour for it to dis-arm itself.

Then remove the cover over the airbag and then the airbag itself.

ou will then see the earth , you need to remove the current connection and drill a new hole to connect it to.

Once all back together it should all be fine.

If its a Diesel engine, it could the Heat Plugs - just had mine done and it starts like a dream! hope this helps.

Pull the bonnet release lever on passenger side of car (Assuming its a right hand drive car). Then at the front of the car midway between the centre and drivers side (again assuming its a right hand drive car) and just under the bonnet there is a little black plastic "T" shaped piece. Pull hard on this as it sometimes sticks a bit and you should hear the bonnet release and then simply lift up the bonnet.

Had the same problem on my 406 coupe 3.0ltr-Try turning on ignition and pressing the keyfob-worked for me, good luck!

crude oil is a mixture of many different hydrocarbon molecules. Petrol, as we call it in the UK, is more acurately known as gasoline, and is one of these hydrocarbons. Amber light with a car on it on the dashboard of a peugeot 406 means that the fuel level is very low.

Soln: fill up fuel tank. Once the tank is filled the warning light clears out.

Check the oil dipstick....it is usually written on it. Check the owner manual or ask any auto parts store or Puegeot dealer... most likely SAE 5wx30 or SAE 10wx30

I am in South Africa and I just found out I need a new starter motor for me Peugeot 206cc. R3500 approx incl labour. WHAT! Is it this expensive in other countries?

Begin by removing the wiring harness from the back of your headlight assembly. Remove the headlight assembly retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new LHD headlights.

If the battery has been out of the key fob for too long the fob loses its program and the car will not start.

Peugeot will try to charge £48 for a reprogram but you can get around this by: -

1) Turn on the ignition

2) Hold down the close button for a few seconds

3) Turn off the ignition and remove the key

4) Start the car

I have a 407 136 hdi with 123000 miles, been told by peugeot main dealer timing belt to be changed at 160,000!!

I have just had a main agent confirm the interval on a 1.6hdi is 144,000

chang it now and bee on the safe side good then for 100,000

You need to put your wheels on full lock to the right say then look under the wheel arch for a cover. remove the cover and put hand up inside to feel for the back of the light,

Ive been looking for a fuse number for a peugeot 406 year 2000, Its the driver side window, but the book gives me one that isn't in the car. Also every site Ive looked at they all seem to be differant. Please can you help. Yours Hopefully Yan Gauld.

how do you change a fan belt on a 406

have the heaters check, i had the same problem but fixed when changed heaters.

its a faulty connexion. wires may be broken or torn. get it checked out

disconnect the battery, wait 5 min (airbag thing) insert a flat blade screwdriver into the hole at the bottom of the steering wheel and press, this should allow the airbag to be pulled out and disconnected

If you have 13 inch wheels, I think they are 155/70.

the air control/valve is the little solid black plastic section on the air filter box to the large pipe its got a plug on it for the wiring the valve is a small blade inside.

dont clean with cloth spray with clutch and brake fluid cleaner and let it drip dry
