An airline pilot is only permitted to fly 8 hours in a 24 hr period, 30 hours in 7 days, 100 in a month and up to 1,000 hours in a calendar year by FAA regulation. (For other types of flying, limits vary.) Most airline schedules are 75-90 hours of flight time per month, not including time spent on the ground between flights or before departure. Many pilots spend 300-400 hours per month away on trips. Time away on trips while not flying is paid at a nominal rate like $2-3/hr to cover travel expenses.

100% of the time the instructions are located close to the device, if not the users manual will help. You should follow the particular steps for your gas fireplace, grill, hot water heater, furnace, or stove. There are differences.

Some Pilots only make $20,00 a year. A lot depends on your experience, for whom you work , and hours logged . Don't count on the big bucks without a few years of experience as a commercial or private pilot .

Getting a private pilot's licence requires bout 80 hours of training, including at least 40 hours of actual flight time. Cost varies depending on the school but is about $7000 (US)

If you want a commercial pilots licence It requires at least one years training and costs about $40,000. Some commercial pilot programs can be completed in 6 months.

Assuming you are getting that measurement at the valve would indicate a strong pilot generator and if the valve still will not open then I would pronounce the gas valve DOA.

To replace the valve cost can vary from $350 to $650 depending on the Contractor due keep in mind that you've replaced the Pilot Generator and now a valve to finsh the job right install a new Pilot Body with the correct orifice and that will round out a reliable system.

Air Force pilots are all officers, they get paid flight pay in addition to officer base pay. check it out by searching for dod pay scales on google.

You must pass the FAA Airman Knowledge exam and after a minimum of 35 hours of flight training you must pass the practical flight check. The average person needs between 55 and 70 hours of flight training to master the skills needed to pass. You must also pass a Third Class Flight Physical. Most people can do this--it's not all that rigorous.

It depends on the pilot contract. Each company has different rates (dollars per hour flown) for each aircraft they operate. After that, it depends on how long (or the seniority) the pilot has been at the company (years of service). Most pilots have a minimum pay guarantee of 75 or 80 hours per month. So, take amount per hour times (x) 75 or 80 and that gives the base salary. Obviously if you fly more the pay is more, and vice versa.

They could be called "fighter pilots." Pilots who won lots of dogfights in the air are commonly called "Aces."

Check that you are getting voltage from the thermocouple. You should see about 600 millivolts.

The detailed directions are printed on front of EVERY gas regulator. - However, in general terms, turn regulator switch to OFF for 2 minutes, then to PILOT and depress for one minute, then light pilot or press clicker till it lights. Keep PILOT pressed for 2 more minutes then slowly release it. If it stays on then turn main switch to RUN or ON. -If you have to light the pilot manually, use a barbecue match (12 inches long)

Have you rotated the gas valve knob to "run".

Have you turned up the thermostat?

Is the pump running? No pump water flow - no heat -- no filtration.

Is the filter clean? When was the last time you cleaned the filter?

I was told by Teledyne Laars that your pilot generator needs to produce at least 500mv to open the gas valve. Mine makes 350mv and will not open the valve.

Hmm, I think that should be nearer to 600 mv - 700 mv.

The FAA requires 40 hours but most people (including myself) take more instruction depending on the type of aircraft one wishes to pilot. The average is between 60 and 65 hours.

you have to work your way up that career ladder, but i have heard of up to $290,000 AU per year. In New Zealand, the pilot averages anywhere from $90,000 to $250,000 a year, depending on what job it is, and how many hours your working. For example, if your working for an airline doing regional domestic and getting $75 an hour and getting eight hours a day, working 340 days out of 365 then you would average $204,000.

Certainly, a felon can learn to fly. Whether or not a felon could get a job flying would be another question. To earn an ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) rating, the FAA wants you to be "of good moral character," or something of that sort, but that wouldn't keep you from flying.

An airline pilot's dress code as you see today took its origins from the late Pan American World Airways, better known as Pan Am. The airline was utilizing flying boats in the 1930's. They felt that the traditional World War I-inspired flight crew clothing at the time did not mesh, so they had the pilots dressed in naval officer uniforms. Since then, most airlines around the world follow that style.

The attire is typically a black (or navy blue) single- or double-breasted blazer, matching dress pants, braid loops on the sleeves and gold buttons, and would also wear a white officer-style cap with the airline's logo. Without the jacket, it is a white dress shirt (either short- or long-sleeved) and black or dark tie, with rank shoulder boards.

I was an Air Force pilot for 10 years. I flew helos, and I flew fixed wing. I had to go to flight school for both.

Helo training is about 10 months to get your wings. Then there is follow-on training designed to train you to fly the specific aircraft and mission for your first assignment. This follow-on training lasts from 3 to 6 months. After arriving at your first unit of assignment you will receive even more training.

Fixed wing flight school (UPT, Undergraduate Pilot Training) takes one year. The follow-on training timeline is similar to that of helo training.

The whole thing is an experience that is well worth the time spent.
