Pop the front bezel off with a flat blade screwdriver (just prys right off)

Then use a 7mm socket to remove the 2 bolts on either side of the radio and then it slides right out. Unplug the main harness, antenna, and ground and the radio is completely out.

there's a special tool needed. I've made them. The radio has four small holes in the front, one in each corner. The tool is made in two pieces, each in a 'U' shape, to insert into two holes at a time. : : like this. the end holes are in pairs the 'U' goes in each end of the radio. Push the 'U's in and pull the radio out.

My 2002 trailerblazer has this same problem i was told by a car audio store owner that these models have individual amps on each speaker and when one goes out all of them do eventually. he said either i would have to install a new system or find a set of speakers from a junk truck. He said he had this problem with his mothers trailblazer and had to replace the speakers with a used pair.

You need your operator's folder. In there is a booklet about the radio. it will have a code you need to enter to get the radio out of "safe" mode. the code is unique to each radio and car.

Jim Mandich Jim Mandich took the path from the field to the broadcast booth. It is possible to receive AM signals without an antenna, FM signals, however, require an antenna to be received. The standard FM antenna is around 72 inches for the quarter wave length at the middle of the FM band. Assuming the radio is not broken, try checking to see if the antenna has become disconnected or broken. You can remove an old working antenna from another vehicle and plug it into the antenna jack of your radio to see if the signal comes through. Older vehicles all use the same type of jack. Newer and some imports use a smaller jack. You can get an adapter from an auto parts store or off the internet (eBay).

You must use the 5 digit code specific to this car and this radio. The code came with the car and is on 2 small cards. Look around for the code. It may be written in the owner's manual or inside the glove box. If you are unable to find the code, then you need to get the serial # off the radio, which may require you to remove the radio or you may be able to see it with a small mirror. With this serial # any Honda dealer can provide the correct code. Try the original selling dealer as they may have the code stored in their system. If you have tired different codes and the radio is locked, then remove the battery ground cable for 1 hour and the radio will reset and accept the correct code. You will have 3 tries to enter the correct code or the radio will lock up again. There are also sites on-line that will provide you with the code for a fee of around $40. The dealer may provide the code for free, so try the dealer first.

It's probably a faulty keyswitch.

The secret is finding the right wiring harness, Metra 70-5600 and there are others. Local auto part stores do not carry it. You can find it on-line or at car audio specialty stores. Installation is relatively easy using the wiring harness and installation kit. Do not try and cut any wires or you will be lost in the maze of wires behind the dash.

Unless you plan on replacing your radio,you have to take it to the dealership. This is for preventing theft.
