XM is the brand name of a satellite radio provider. Their competitor in the market is Sirius Radio. Both provide a wide variety of audio stations beamed from a satellite. This means they are available anywhere in North America, so you can listen to the same station all across the US. Cost for the service is about $10 a month. New GM cars and vehicles are all equipped with XM radio and most come with a free 90 day subscribtion with a new car. Other auto makers also have satellite radios. You can obtain hand held and MP3 capable players as well.

Commercial AM radio stations (in the USA) operate on carrier frequencies spaced every 10 KHz
between 550 KHz and 1.65 MHz.

Commercial FM radio stations operate on carrier frequencies spaced every 200 KHz between
88.1 MHz and 107.9 MHz.

Commercial analog TV used to start at 54 MHz and get 6 MHz for each channel, with gaps for
other services. Since the forced mass exodus to all-digital TV in June '09, I don't know where
the TV's all are now.

The government did not take up seriously the licensing and control of amateur and commercial radio operators- all this was in Code then, until about l00 years ago. There was something called the Roberts Bill. Popular electronics writer- and also a Science fiction man- Hugo Gernsback manufactured amateur radio gear and took up the cause of the Amateur- in a very real sense he can be called one of the founding fathers. Naturally, he used his magazines ( Modern Electrics, was one) as a , well repeater circuit. this was around l9ll or so. It fell under the department of commerce- the maritime section- as there were and are many Marine operators- catapulted into the news by the Titanic disaster a year or so later! It should be noted- emergency prepardedness aside- Ham operators were NOT directly involved in the Titanic disaster or rescue attempts and message traffic connected with it. SOS indeed!

First what year is it? If it is a 2000-2003 you will need to remove the dash pad itself to remove the cover for the radio. There are screws on both sides of the dash where the fuse panel is on the driver side and passenger side, also open the glove box there are two ontop in the front use a flash light to see them. Also the center air vent ontop of the dash has one or two that hold it on and maybe some underneth it. that should be most of them but check before you just rip it off. Next if you look across the top of the bezel (gauges and radio) there should be a few more. from there it should come right out. Then you should see what is left of the screws that hold in the radio…..

Any Cavalier that was made after and including 1995 requires you to remove the dash to get to the stereo. There's no way around this short of prying at your dash and hoping it flexes enough to get the stereo out - if you try this method, which I've seen people do before - you've got about a 1% chance of NOT breaking something.

Do it right, remove the dash. Pick up a Chiltons or Haynes manual for $20 and look at the instructions in there. $20 for a manual is way cheaper than a couple hundred bucks for a dash.

You will need a "Torx/Star" drill bit or driver to remover these screws...

(STEP1-)Open drivers door

(STEP2-)Use flathead screwdriver to pop-off panel where the fuse door is. (Pop the whole thing off...not just the fuse door)

(STEP3-)Unscrew the screw closest to the A/C vent

(STEP4-)On top of your dash, there are 2 or 3 screws with the Defrost vent...remove them and the vent

(STEP5-)Open passenger door

(STEP6-)Repeat step 2 (minus the fuse door)

(STEP7-)Repeat step 3

(STEP8-)Open glove compartment

(STEP9-)There are 2 or 3 screws on the top perimiter of the glove box...remove them

(STEP10-)Using a long screwdriver or nutdriver (not sure anymore), unscrew the two "brass-looking" screws INSIDE the glove box(on the roof of the glove box) they are right in the middle. DONT DROP THEM OR THEY WILL BE GONE FOREVER! (STEP11-)That does it for the top part...just start pulling it off (If you here snaps, its normal. Because it is also held in by clips)

(STEP12-)Unscrew the screws all along the top of the front dash trim

(STEP13-)Now start pulling the dash trim away from the dash

(STEP14-)While it is off, you will have to unsnap the dimmer control (from behind) and unplug the cig lighter (From the back. Also, the actual lighter stays in the dash trim)

ENJOY! and yes, you have to do steps 1 thru 11. if not, you will not be able to get to the screws holding on the front dash trim. It sounds tough. After you do it the first time, its no sweat.

The main disadvantage of a radio telescope is the poor resolution of the images they obtain. This isn't due to a flaw in the design, but in a limitation of the radio signals they observe. The longer the wavelength of light (radio waves are light!) the fuzzier the image you receive.

In order to combat this, a larger telescope is needed. Radio telescopes are thus the largest astronomical telescopes, measuring hundreds of meters across (e.g. Arecibo radio telescope) or composed of many smaller dishes in large arrays of dozens of radio dishes (e.g. VLBA, Very Long Baseline Array).

Another disadvantage is the amount of human generated noise can easily interfere with the telescopes, and is harder to isolate and shield than from light pollution, as it easily reaches beyond horizons and around terrain and obstacles. This can require remote observation sites.

there are ways to do this, but i dont recommend it. this can cause sound to be distorted and also could blow fuses or cause other electric damages.

I have a 97, hope it is the same. You hit the set button, and the hour will flash, you use either the scan, or seek button to change it. one does the hour, the other the minute. When you have the correct time, hit set again, and there you go.

Hold the button RCL and change the time by pressing up and down on the tune buttons if your car radio doesnt have the RCL buttun use the buttone that changes the view from clock to radio station.

Television uses more electricity. Remember that inside your TV is a "radio" - for the sound. You have to power up both the audio circuits (demodulators, amplifiers, etc.) and the video circuits in a TV.

I had the same problem when I installed a new after market SONY CD/radio. If yours is the New Beetle check the 25 AMP fuse in the fuse box on the drivers side where the door connects to the dash. It is fuse # 42 (or the only 25Amp fuse on the 3rd row up from the bottom. You can get a pack of 5 of this fuses at the auto parts store (ex Advanced Auto) If the 25 Amp is okay, check the 10 Amp #37 on the bottom row.

Go to the Radio Tower in Goldenrod City. At the desk on the first floor are three people and if you go to the woman to the right, she will ask you five questions. If you answer all the questions correctly (Yes, yes, no, yes, no, if I remember correctly) she will give you a radio card for your Poké Gear.

From what I was told by a Tech the Cobra 29 xlr was one of the first CB's Cobra ever produced although I do not know when that is, I am still researching that.

Not ALL do. This are applicable only in North America and codes assigned for different types of broadcasting - including commercial radio, and in different regions in North America.

When "radiotelephone" sets began to appear on ocean going ships, the operators pretty much made up their own identifications. As more ships came equipped, this practice soon became a major problem. It was then decided that transmitting and receiving stations be assigned call signs.

When land-based radio stations started up in the early part of the 20th century, the new Federal Radio Commission began to assign call letters- first in alpha-numeric variations (for experimental licensees) and three-and-four letter alpha identifications for commercial operations.

An international conference comprised of the major countries heavily into the development of broadcasting decided that North America would be assigned as follows:

"N" for U.S. Navy stations;

"W" for broadcast stations on the amplitude modulation (AM) band and later on the frequency modulation (FM) band east of the Mississippi River and "K" for those stations west of the river;

"C" would be assigned to stations originating from Canada;

"X" for Mexico

I have the same problem with my 1994 GT. I was told you have to go to the Mitsubishi dealer and have them reset the stereo. So I called Mitsubishi and they want $120 to do that. If you know a more economical method to reset the stereo, I would love to hear it. The way I got my code without having to pay for it was when I took my car to the dealer the tech left the lights on over night so the battery died. When I went to pick it up they had to reset the radio...so they had to suck up the fee. Once you have the code you use the channel stations to enter the number once code is entered you just hit the am/fm button. I do know that when the dealer had to call and get the code they gave it to me and did tell me it was at least $100 to get the dumb code normally. Might as well just pay the price. But I think you need the radio out as well to give them the serial number. Not very user friendly...hence the anti-theft.

Search the web. I once found the codes on the web for all the Daewoo radios. You just have to try each one until it works. code on top of radio pull out There also should be a card with the owners manual that would say the code. I have a 2000 Lanos and the code for its radio is 6361. i don't know if they use they same code for all of them but it wouldn't hurt to try I got my Lanos without a manual, and when the battery died I had to guess the code. The good news is that unlike other cars, Lanos' radio doesn't lock if you guess incorrectly. you need to try 6*6*6*6=1296 times at the most. In average it will take you about 30 minutes. My code was 1656, so it wasn't too bad to find it.
