There are lots of cars for trailer, but there are trailers made for non-trailer cars.

Many people dont know this but if your car is getting repoed and you see it happening you need to go up to the guy that is repoing your car and tell him that you cant pay for the repo/tow and by law they need to put down your car.

-I hate to disagree with the above answer, but I own a repossession company that operates in WA, ID, and OR. This would never stop us. The reason is that we are hired by the lender, they will pay for the repossession. The first answer may be refering to a stay te that I do not operate in, or some subtle point of law that I'm unfamiliar with. The best advice is to call you lender and try to work out how you can get your car back. If you cannot work with them try contacting a company called LEAP financing, they finance cars that are in repo.

It depends on the legal jurisdiction, and the decision of the officer who made the stop. But, yes, in many locales you car can be impounded.

Technically the car can be repossessed when your loan becomes 30 days late. The industry standard is to start looking for the car after 90 days. This is for large banks. If you purchase a car at a 'buy here pay here' lot, they WILL take the car on the 31'st day.

The "diff" is an abbreviation for differential.Most cars have 2, but some only have 1. They are located on the axles, usually towards the center. They hold gears and gear oil. They help put the vehicles horsepower to the drive wheels. Only 4 wheel drive and All wheel drive cars have 2 differentials. If they are just rear wqheel drive the differential willbe in the rear axle, and if its a front wheel drive vehicle then the differential is located in the front axle.

It depends on credit mostly. You just have to shop around but try not to have your credit report pulled too many times or too frequently because it will lower your credit score.

Hmmm, that's a tough one. But as far as I know, what he did IS legal unless he did actual damage to your door or anything else. Most of the time they either use a key from the dealership or get the car on a tow truck. In other words they would really rather not deal with the owners. So the fact that they knocked on your door at all is odd, unless they needed you to open the garage or a gate or something to get to the car.

Perhaps the best way, is to sell them all and then split the money. You can each choose a few items that mean alot to your both, but the classic way to prevent family disputes in this area is to sell everything and split the money.
