A group of writers that bridged the gap between the romantic literature and the realism period of literature?

I recently took a college course titled "The Novel from 1700 to 1900" and for our final paper we were to show how Gothicism was used as a vehicle to move from Romanticism to Modernism. While Modernism is not the same as Realism, they do share many common qualities. The first three books of the course leading from Romanticism to Gothicism were Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and Hard Times by Charles Dickens. The novels that started the height of Gothicism and gradually led to Modernism were The Monk by Matthew Lewis, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, and finally The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. While all of the novels mentioned arguably have some elements of Romanticism, Gothicism, and Modernism, upon reading them you can see how they style of each book shows a gradual movement from Romanticism to Modernism. Hope this helps! (I answered the question before I became a member:))

What are some romance novels for preteens?

I am a fan of the Harry Potter series. They are on a 6th-8th grade reading level, I believe. They are good books if you like adventure, and the magical-themed type of books. (Author J. K. Rowling)

Another series is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, by Rick Riordan. He then made another series with almost all the same characters called the Heroes of Olympus.

A lot of teens also seem to like Twilight, although I've never read the series before, so I couldn't tell you much about that. (author Stephanie Meyer)

Anne of Green Gables is also a great wholesome series, on a 5th-6th grade reading level. (author Lucy Maud Montgomery)

The Books of Bayern (shannon Hale)

The Princess Academy ( Shannon Hale)

Emily Windsnap (Liz Kessler)

If you're just looking for just one book, not in a series, a really good book is So B It. I believe the reading level is either 5th of 6th grade. (author Sarah Weeks)

Also a recommended book for young teens is Flygirl, by Sherri Smith.

The London Eye mystery is also good, by Siobhan Dowd.

Also good books are Deep Down Popular(Phoebe Stone) , Fairest, and Ella Enchanted.( Both by Gail Carson Levine)

The Hunger Games series, the Alex Rider series

What shakesspeare sonnet does marianne read in sense and sensibility?

In the movie version of Sense and Sensibility with Kate Winslet, Marianne reads Sonnet 116:

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wandering bark,

Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come:

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
