again more info would be helpful. is it a 4cyl or the 6cyl. do you plan on doing the work yourself or a garage. in which case you can get your own parts and take them and save some money but they may charge something go some place else. and check your belt you may need that change if you see cracking. the belt is about 20 to 40 depending where you go, the alternator can be from 75 to 200 depending where you go. and if the shop gets the parts you can bet they will ad 25% to the price just to make some money. if you do it yourself buy a good tool set with at least 100 pieces to get enough tools to do most jobs. when changing the alternator remove the negative battery terminal first so you dont short anything and cost more money.

Take it to a Goodwrench certfied shop. The transmission in the Saturn Vue has no dipstick, so requires service by a certified mechanic.

Unless you have a leak, which you would obviously see, there is no need to check the fluid level.

lift the fuse box cover under the hood next to the battery ..lift cover off you will see a bank of fuses to the top left you will notice 1 fuse looking reeset button ...have car running ..push tiny reset button down.

usually, you add the fluid where the dipstick is i have a 91, my power steerin fluid is added under the hood on the passenger side in the back near ur belt has a black cap wit alil dip stick attached to it...hope that helpz

Not sure if this will help, but in the 2006 VUE manual, page 2-9, it indicates that automatic locking CANNOT be disabled, but the user can disable the automatic unlocking that occurs when the ignition is turned off. To toggle between enabled and disabled automatic UNLOCKing in the 2006 VUE,

1) Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to "RUN".

2) Press and hold the unlock button on the remote key fob for 8 seconds.

The horn will chirp once when unlocking is enabled, twice when it is disabled.

There is a drain plug at the bottom and a fill plug about 2/3'ds up the case. like changing the oil in a standard rear axle drive rear end.. It's a pain as you will need a suction gun with a endhose to pull the new fluid out of the can of oil and ppump it into the case. Vehicle must be level...Fill until fuild dribbles out the fill hole. You also need to use the special Dexron III/Saturn fluid... I have not found this fluid at part stores. Must by from Saturn dealer,.

I found Valvoline CVT fluid at Napa that is what you need

You will need a Freon recharge kit. Connect the hoses of the recharge kit to the ports on top of the air conditioner compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor.

The correct amount of oil to put in a Saturn Vue, is 4 gallons of 40w-50..

It could possibly be the heater core

For VTi variable transmission, only use DEX-CVT (P/N 22688912). 4 cylinder only I think

For automatic transmission use only Saturn T-IV Fluid (P/N 22689186). 6 cylinder only I think.

Check your owner's manual index for 'Transmission fluid' to be sure.

If you use the wrong fluid it can cause permanent damage to your transmission. If in doubt fork over the $ and let an authorized Saturn dealer do the work. If your dealer has closed call a GM dealer.

Turn on your radio and on the radio panel you will see a button with a clock icon, push this button. The time and day will appear along with a menu that says Hr, Min etc. Push the button under the menu header you want. If you push Hr, the hour on the time will highlight, use the scan up/down buttons to adjust the time.

I know that the 3.5l V6 engine does.

The brake pads are probably worn. If not repaired, then the metal backer of the brake pads can cut into and damage the brake rotors. Noise is a sign to check the brakes as soon as possible.

My 2004 Vue would've been fairly easy but over time the bearing/hub melded itself to the swing arm. Had to take it in so they could beat the crap out of it to get if off. Total job $124.00 (pretty cheap) and 5 hours of cussing and swearing from me trying to do it myself in December in Michigan....!!!! IF all goes well with yours, obviously take the tire, brakes, rotors, and then the bearing/hub assy should come off--don't remember how many bolts though. If you're mechanically inclined this actually isn't a tough job.
