John Dee was born in 1527 and was an astronomer and a mathematician as well as an astrologer and an occultist. His greatest contribution to science was in the field of navigation, where he pioneered some of the star navigation techniques that were used by sailors for many years.

Foreign Scientists: You don't say which country you're in, so I can't say who is foreign to you. But here are some examples of scientists from around the world:

William Perkin- A British chemist, he invented the first synthetic dye, mauveine. Herman Mark- the father of polymer chemistry, was an Austrian Jew. I like Otto Bayer a lot. He was a German, and he invented polyurethane. He's not related to the Bayer family that started the chemical company he worked for. Otto Rohm and Otto Haas were Germans who invented acrylate polymers. These are used for things like Plexiglas and the plastic layer of safety glass. Leo Baekeland was a Belgian who invented two things: prepackaged photo paper and phenolic plastic. The photo paper made him rich; the phenolic made him immortal.

The different types of scientific investigations include descriptive studies, experimental studies, observational studies, and theoretical studies. Descriptive studies aim to describe a phenomenon, experimental studies involve manipulating variables to test hypotheses, observational studies involve observing and analyzing data without intervening, and theoretical studies involve developing and testing models or theories.

Satyendra Nath Bose and Albert Einstein made important contributions to the development of quantum mechanics through their collaboration on the theory of photon gas. This work led to the discovery of Bose-Einstein Condensate.

Tesla died of heart failure alone in room 3327 of the New Yorker Hotel, on 7 January 1943.

most of his child hood was spent in a small tome in Europe ....when he was in his late 20's he came here to the states and becme a citezen ....he had a lab in NJ for some time and went fromt there to Niagra falls NY and Buffalo NY in 1898-1903 ruffly he was here in Bufflo for the worlds fair in 1901 and using his AC current and a new kind of Bulb (long story) he lite up Buffalo NY for the fair he stayed here fro some time working with Westinghouse as a money backer (Westionghouse office stood where the airport is today) and he had a room where he got his 3 hours of daily sleep he made a power plant at the foot of Niagra falls and was running till the late 50 and it fell into the gorge at the bottom of the falls soo there after....he then moved to Colorado and tryed a few experaments that didn't work like he had hoped (He burned out the bolder dam power station) the whole station ....... so after he gave Westionhouse an Idea to send power through the air with out wired ....they thought this was a great Idea (no more downed power lines and no more wires to fix) till they asked him how they would charge for this wireless power ....Tesla said ...no it for free!!! they labled him nuts and fired him ...he died soo after a broke man .....ain't larger companys great???

Isaac Newton is a famous scientist who studied forces. He formulated the laws of motion, including the law of universal gravitation, which describe the relationship between an object and the forces acting upon it.

Known as the founder of microbiology, Pasteur discovered the role of bacteria in fermentation. His experiments with bacteria conclusively disproved the theory of spontaneous generation and led to the theory that infection is caused by germs. Extrapolating from this knowledge, Pasteur then developed a process in which liquids such as milk were heated to kill all bacteria and moulds already present within them. This process became known as pasteurisation.

Tesla completed his elementary education in Croatia. He continued his schooling in the Polytechnic School in Graz and finished at University of Prague. He worked as an electrical engineer in Germany, Hungary and France before emigrating to the United States in 1884.

The study of plants is called botany, the person who studies plants is called a botanist. Botany is a field of Life Sciences which looks at the classification and physical characteristics of plants.

A person who studies the interaction of plants and animals in an environment is called an ecologist or environmentalist.

A person who grows plants is called a horticulturist.

Nikola Tesla had one brother, Dane, or Daniel. Dane died from a horse accident when Nikola was 5. Nikola had 3 other sisters, Milka, Angelina, and Marica.

A world without Nikola Tesla would be very different from our's today. His work was absolutely brilliant. A common misconception today is that Thomas Edison developed the electrical systems we have today, but actually we use Tesla's. We use Tesla's lightbulb and his alternating current system. His motors are the same motors used in our cars today. He invented the radio and wireless communication. There are many inventions he made that aren't even credited to him, such as x-rays, neon lighting, the microwave, the electron microscope, fluorescent lightbulbs, and the speedometer. He also pioneered many cutting-edge technologies, such as robotics. Not only was he an inventor, but he also an important contributor to our understanding of physics. He discovered that the earth and humans can act as electrical conductors themselves, allowing wireless transfer of radio waves. He was one of the few people of his time to truly understand about the electromagnetic field. Tesla made many military technologies too, such as VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing), used by our military aircraft today. He also invented many things the general public doesn't even know about, such as the "Star Wars" Defense System, the ballistics defense system used during the Reagan Administration during the Cold War. The people of today are still using Tesla's inventions, stuff that was made in the late 19th century, to pioneer new 21st century technologies. Nikola Tesla was one of the greatest people who ever lived.

Ernest Rutherford is known for his famous gold foil experiment, which led to the discovery of the atomic nucleus and the proposal of the nuclear model of the atom. His work helped to refine the understanding of the structure of the atom and laid the foundation for the development of modern atomic theory.

The symbols (formulas) show the elements or ions in a compound. Sometimes it is easier to see the relationships between the elements with an empirical formula. But with larger molecules with atoms in complex arrangements, the written names are sometimes more appropriate. (e.g. sodium benzoate NaC7H5O2 which is formed from an ion of benzene C6H6)

The Max Planck medal is an award that is given every year to deserving recipients by the German Physical Society. Einstein was given this award for his extraordinary achievements in theoretical science, in 1929.
