I was out on a minichopper I just bought from a friend, and I saw a five year old on a 43cc Ducattai imitation pocket bike...the young lad had style, and grace when he rode it, but his father had to pull start the rip coard...My five year old has been on my minichopper with me, and has steereed it in a straight line, and manipulated the throttle while I was on it...It is electric start, he know when to throw the switch and let it go when the bike starts...so, to answer your question, I would recommend, anywhere form a full steady balance on rollerblades to a bicycle, and then progress to a larger bike, depending on age...if you are an older gentleman such as I, then the minibikes are fun for any age over 12 recommended...they can be heavy, and the rip cords can be rather cumbersome for young hands, and also the whole idea of the choke can be rather foreign to a young'un.

Minibikes that meet the street legal requirements for a motorcycle are street legal. They are considered a motorcycle and must carry the same equipment.

There are several ways that a less than 50CC 2 cycle engine is governed. I will list some for you and you can check to see what applies to your engine. Most 2 cycle engines for the street are governed by: 1. A restrictor in the exhaust pipe. Now this is most often a washer or just a extra set of baffles along with a very small exit pipe.

2. Some engines use a block spacer inside the throttle side on the carb to stop the jet from opening completely. YOU cannot tell it until it has been removed, then hold on to your seat. 4 or 5 miles per hour on the top end and real good take off.

3. Electronics play a very large part now in governing top end speed. The electronic governor is built in and controlled by one wire most of the time. I would need to know who made your engine and a couple of other things in order to help you remove the governor.

4. Just a note for information. Most 47CC engines put out around 1.3 horse power. With out any restrictions or governors that same engine is around 3 horse.

In my home town, it's only illegal to operate a bicycle on a sidewalk "in a business district." While this definition remains unclear, I've heard it described as "if you see parking meters--get off the sidewalk!"

Regardless of law, it is imperative to operate a bicycle in the manner that promotes your and others' safety. Often, that means the roadway; occasionally, that means the sidewalk.

On my 150 cc Honda scooter, I just use 91 octane gas from the station. Also, if it is a 2 stroke, then you will need to put oil in the oil tank, But most 150 cc scooters are 4 strokes, which don't require this.

Yes it does have a restrictor plate and it can be removed with a little effort. go to urbanscootin.com and search for derestricting and there is a detailed how to guide on how to remove it
