Yes. Usually a wheal response, also known as swelling is caused by your body producing a histamine. What this does is allow fluid to pass from small blood capillaries into the surrounding tissue. I have the same problem sometimes. I use some Q-tips dipped in hydrogen peroxide and clean the inside (there could be something in there that is causing the infection i.e. lint/hair) then grab a rag and pour some of the peroxide into your naval and let it sit for a a couple minutes... this will sting a little then place the rag on it and turn over so the peroxide can run out. It should clear up soon... just do this daily until it goes away. Mine are reoccurring so I am thinking about going to the doctor soon.
