How do you test a tractor starter that does not spin?
Start by checking the selenoid switch - you take a heavy wire or screwdriver and put across the two main connections for the main wire and if it doesn't turn over then, try putting the booster cables from a good battery - put ground on the body of the starter and the positive on the post where the wire is hooked on, if it doesn't turn over then your brushes maybe bad or if someone has hit it with a hammer or hard object you may have smashed the magnets inside it. In which case you will have to get new magnets, brushes or a new starter.

Have a 1996 ski-doo formula sl 500 it will cough then lose power for a while then it will run ok?
Coughing through the carbs is a sign that there is not enough fuel at that time for the engine. 2 cycle engines can burn a piston if fuel is not enough adequate. I would recommend cleaning the carbs. If you need more help contact me through my board and I will try to help.
What is likely to happen if you do not ventilate gas fumes after fueling your boat?
Unusually nothing happens. BUT a build-up of fumes is possible under the right conditions. That along with an ignition source (engine starter motor etc..) can cause a catastrophic explosion. Use the blower while fueling and before starts IAW your owners manual.

ANS 2 - The Doodlebug was actually the colloquial name for the V1, it had nothing to do with the V2

Such questions cannot seriously be answered. It's highly subjective. Powerful, compared to...? I never had a 260cc, but had experience with 125/350/500cc so by extrapolating:
Is it enough to get you in serious trouble if you misjudge a corner? Definitely yes.
Is it enough to propel you in Hayabusa-like 350Km/h? Hardly. You won't break any speed records on it.
Is it enough to drag you up a moderately steep incline, with a passenger and some luggage? Well... only just. Again, you won't be doing it in the third.
Is it enough to give you a momentary boost when overtaking something? Absolutely. As long as you're not already trying to go with all the 120Km/h the bike is likely capable of.
So, in short: usable - yes. powerful - naaaaw...
How do you remove valves on a 5hp Briggs?
Take the head off the engine then you will see the top of the valves. Look on the side of the motor right below the valves you will see a cover with two screws remove them and you will see behind it the stems of the valves - there are two springs you have to push one at a time and there is a slide clip which slides and pops off. Then push the valves up and pull it out of the engine.
