What year is the vehicle? On my 2006, there is a button beside the little window at the bottom of the speedometer. Short presses cycles between odometer, trip meter 1 and trip meter 2. While displaying the trip meter, press and hold the button for about 2 seconds. The trip meter will reset to zero.

undo 4 small bolts along the top .you have push in fittings along the bottom , be careful of the ones just under the head lights on the end of the plastic.use a long screw driver on the centre one and maybe the others.good luck.dave

umm.There is no belt, it is a chain they pretty much last till the rest of the jeep is dead(generaly) what to watch out for is, if you start to get a constant engine rattle sound it could be the Tensioner for the chain which is going ,and should get attention ASAP.

The air conditioning drain can be found on the bottom of the air conditioner compressor. The drain hose will go from the compressor to the bottom of the engine compartment.

Yes there are two fuse boxes. One in the engine compartment main fuses that control more than one thing. The second is in the passenger compartment under and I mean under the dash on the drivers side wall. Get a flash light it is a retangular black box, follow the wires to it.

Bank one sensor one can be found on the drivers side before the cat. The best way to change the sensor on an '01 XL-7 is to buy an oxygen sensor tool, the socket model works best! These can be found at any auto parts store. I believe they are 22mm?

The 2006 XL-7 with 2.7L engine and auto transmission is rated for 3000 pounds towing. I have never had a problem towing my motorcycle trailer (which also has a ramp on the back) over long distances but the weight was only about 1200 pounds max. If you are just going to tow the boat to and from the cottage on the weekend, and you don't exceed the tow rating of the vehicle, then you will probably be OK. Use the A/T POWER mode of the transmission and use the overdrive lockout button if you travel up to 55MPH. You will pay more for fuel because the engine will rev higher but these engines are built to rev, so it won't hurt them. If you don't use the overdrive lockout, the transmission will do more shifting through the gears on even the slightest grade, which makes it heat up more. At speeds over 60MPH, leave the transmission in its normal mode. Watch the brakes, though -- use the overdrive lockout when going down steep hills to gain some engine braking and save the wheel brakes.

I am not 100% sure for the 2006,but on the 2002 there is one in the engine compartment in front of the battery,and one on the driver side it is well hidden though.On the left side of the driver side bottom look underneath you will see a bunch of wiring there is a black box ,that is the cover for the fuse box ,you may need a flashlight (i missed it on my first check).good luck!

A flashing AC light in a Suzuki XL-7 seldom indicates a serious problem. A flashing AC light often resolves itself, as it is frequently caused by one of the door actuators sticking. Occasionally, it may be caused by an issue with the control unit. In most cases, the AC continues to work properly.

The spare tire is on the outside of the rear cargo door. It is under a plastic cover. There is an elastic drawstring around the rim of the cover, in the soft flexible part, not the hard plastic part. Find the end of the drawstring (usually tucked back under the edge of the cover or left dangling near the base of the rear wiper) and slide back the plastic lock to loosen the string. Gradually pull the edges of the tire cover, spreading it open wider and wider until it is big enough to pull straight off the tire. It's a tight fit so you will have to work it a bit to get it off, just follow the edge around and pull it off gradually. Once the cover is off, you will see the tire and wheel held onto the mounting bracket with three wheel nuts. These are identical to the wheel nuts on the main wheels and can be removed using the same wrench that is located adjacent to the jack under the right rear passenger seat. If one of these three nuts doesn't look like the other two, it is an anti-theft lock. Insert the ignition key into the slot at the end of the lock, push in on the key and pull the lock toward you with your other hand, it should pop right off, exposing a nut underneath. Then undo the nuts and remove the tire from the bracket. I won't tell you how much fun it is to re-install the spare tire cover - you'll find out for yourself!

Other than the MIL light illuminating you may not notice any performance issues.

A faulty O2 sensor heater
Wiring or connectors are broken or frayed to the sensor or relay
Bad PCM or ECM

The fix
Correct wiring short or loose connector found in inspection.

Replace the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor

Under the front fascia to the right of the steering wheel. Squeeze the two short ends and GENTLY pull down and the lid comes away. The two ends are different so note which way the thing fits or you'll be ages trying to make it fit the wrong way round. I don't want to admit how I know that. It doesn't come out at all so you have to work on it kind of upside downish. I'm 6ft 7" and found it awkward to say the least.

In the manual it states that you have to remove the grill and radiator to get at the casing for the headlight.

There are two ways to find the oil filter. 1) with the hood raised look on the right hand side of your engine you'll see your oil dip stick and then your transmission dip stick,look about a foot past your tranny stick and down and you should see your filter. 2) with the front of your truck raised get under the truck and lie with your head on the left tire (if you were sitting behind the drivers seat) look towards the engine and back where you should see some wires and you'll see it-this will give you the best angle when you have to reach up to change it. While you're under the truck if you look towards the middle of the engine underneath you'll see this big black cover that is covering your oil pan, there's a long space between the cover and your undercarrige, in the middle you'll see your drain plug.

In order to replace a headlight bulb on a Suzuki XL-7 you must first remove the plastic covering. After that is done it's simple just to remove the bulb and add the new one. Take special note of the wiring and what it should look like.

Take off the 5 lug nuts holding on the wheel.

the plug is located under the dash between the steering wheel and the radio ,closer to the radio and right near the front of the dash, and yes it is the same plug as the Chevy
