the specifications section in the owner's manual should tell you what all of the fluid levels shouls be. also, look in the index under oil or engine oil for where to find it. and if you do not have that manual on hand... my 03 XL-7 takes 5.8 quarts. It should be about the same for yours. your dip stick shoudl have two holes on the bottom tip - keep the oil in the middel for a safe measure.

It is located in front of the battery. you will see the main fuse box but it is not there, look closer to the battery you will see two small black boxes, one of them should have a/c written on top of it, pop the lid off and you will find a 25 volt fuse, this is the ac

The 2003 XL7 has 2 separate belts; one A/C belt, and one fan/alternator belt. In addition, there isn't a timing belt as it is a timing chain on this vehicle.

I'm doing this now. It's a little daunting, because you have to take off the intake manifold. It's not particularly hard, it just takes time. It took me 4-5 hours to simply get everything taken apart. Lots of hoses and couplers to disconnect. You have to drain about 1/2 gallon of coolant from the radiator before you start.

Also, getting all of the gaskets was the hard part. I had to special order most from a Suzuki dealership. Total cost of gaskets: about $120. Gaskets you'll need:

- Intake manifold gaskets

- Valve cover gaskets

- Throttle body gasket (believe me, you'll need it)

- Surge tank pipe gaskets (2) (front pipe with two bolts on each side)

- Intake collector gaskets (2) (rear pipe with three bolts on each side, to which the throttle body is connected)

we have a 2003 and get about 20 on a trip, but only about 15 around town.

Any kind of name brand 10w-30 oil should work just fine.

I belive you can find it on the exhaust pipe coming of the engine. It will have a wire going to it. Remove the wire lead and using a wrench, loosen the sensor a remove.This sensor just screws into the exhust pipe, no big deal. Good luck.

Suzuki and Peugeot do not share parts. 4-cylinder Grand Vitaras built before 2006 have some interchangeable parts with Chevrolet Tracker vehicles, because Suzuki was building them for General Motors.

The rear washer feeds from the same reservior as front, if you look you have 2 pumps in reservior.

The AC light comes on when you select the windshield defog setting on the heater. It happens automatically because the air conditioner doesn't just cool the air, it also makes it drier, which defogs the windshield faster and better. On my 2006, pushing the AC button after selecting the defogger disengages the AC again. Works well in the winter when it's cold but on rainy days doesn't work as well. On my 2001, the AC came on when I selected defog and there was nothing I could do about it. It's normal and will make your defogger work better, just turn the heat up a bit to compensate if you get chilly.

The pick-up-focus is not properly functioning during a playback due to damages on the disc or other reasons. I have the same problem. They say take to dealer, they are untrained for this problem So I will remove the radio myself. If a can't get it repair, I will get a new one from Best Buy.

Not too sure about Suzuki, but my 05 Nissan put them under coil packs that are on top of the head cover. Hope that helps some.

Their are three sensors, one located just in front of the radiator middle front of engine and two on the exhaust header at the middle back of the motor. You can remove the sensors using a 22 MM socket or combo. Just unplug it anf screw it out.

you have pushed the O/D lockout button on the shifter. It is the smaller button just below the big button on the shift lever handle. The O/D light indicates that high gear in the transmission is no longer available. Use it only for towing or if you are like me, to give engine braking on steep hills. Sometimes I use it in town to prevent excessive shifting in and out of top gear. Engine will rev higher and use more fuel, so it's best to leave it off.

I had to do this while on vacation this past summer. The bulb costs about $10-15 at W-M. You'll need a small Philips head IIRC to unscrew the outer housing (under the hood). There is a rubber flange that covers the bulb and keeps it watertight. Study this carefully - maybe even shoot a pic of it before you begin. (You can also reference the other headlight as you work.)

There is a metal clasp tensioner that holds the light/flange in place. You have to basically undo that clasp, peel back the flange, and then simply unplug the old light and remove it. Replace the new light (hold it with a clean cloth so you don't get body oils on it and short it out) following the steps in reverse order. The hardest part, really, is getting that flange on there correctly (I had put mine on upside down and it took me a long time to discover why the metal clasp wouldn't properly seat as I abused my fingers)...and the metal clasp has a LOT of tension and if you fasten and unfasten it several times you'll feel it; it has to be put on EXACTLY the way it was or else it won't seat properly. Not a real difficult task, just a bit of a pain.

you have to remove the plastic cover below the window and then remove the sheet of plastic and look for the handle coming through on the other side. the door handle moves a rod up and down. it needs lube and then work it up and down.

If the light stays on when the emergency brake is not engaged, this indicates the brakes are getting low and need to be replaced.

Most likely a bad O2 sensor. Search the net for O2 sensor info for how they work and more detail on heated O2 sensors. Sensor 1 means upstream or in the manifold. In front of the catylytic converter. There is what appears to be a small catylytic converter at the very end of the exhaust manifolds in addition to the one that looks like a normal size converter. Sensor one is at the back of the exhaust manifold between the enging and the manifold. I don't know which side is bank 1 as I got here looking for that info myself.
