I have an 03 XL7 and the only way I could get to the filter was to remove the 2 bolts from the steering clamp/collar . Then slide the clamp down ( be sure to put witness marks with a paint marker or a scratch awl on the shaft and clamp/collar for proper install ) to release the 2 shafts from one another . Now you can get your hand in there for filter removal ....use caution when putting in new filter , and be sure the threads are clean and that not to cross thread the thing .

99% of the time with that code it is saying bank 1 cam shaft is off any more than likely is a mechanical engine problem causing that problem.since it runs very bad more than likely a timing chain has jumped or an idler sprocket has failed.it would need to be taken to a shop and they have to take apart and check the physical alignment of the chains to the cam sprockets
The engine control module (ECM) tests for a misalignment between both camshafts on one bank of the engine and the crankshaft. The misalignment would be at an idler sprocket for either bank or at the crankshaft. Once the ECM learns the position of both camshafts on one bank of the engine, the ECM compares the learned values to a reference value. The ECM will set a DTC if both learned values for one bank of the engine are exceeding a calibrated threshold in the same direction.
- Inspect the engine for any recent engine mechanical repairs. An incorrectly installed secondary timing chain can cause this DTC to set.
- A single failed camshaft actuator or actuator solenoid will not cause this DTC to set. This diagnostic algorithm is designed to detect an alignment condition between a primary intermediate sprocket and the secondary timing chain, or the alignment between a primary intermediate sprocket and the crankshaft. Either condition would cause the camshaft timing for both cams on one bank to be off an equal number of degrees.
- The presence of DTCs P0008 and P0009 along with P0016, P0017, P0018, and P0019 indicates a possible condition with the primary timing chain and the alignment between both intermediate sprockets and the crankshaft. Or, the crankshaft reluctor wheel has moved and is no longer referenced to top dead center (TDC).
- Observing the desired and actual camshaft angle parameters, with a scan tool before a DTC sets, may help to isolate whether a condition is specific to one camshaft, one bank, or caused by a condition with the primary crankshaft timing.

How do you remove front brake pads on 2002 Suzuki XL 7?
pads are easy,a 5/8 sockett will loosen the 2 caliper bolt holding it on.they are behind the rotor on the right hand side,(as you are looking at the roror),about 1-2 inches down from the top of the pad for 1,and up about the same distance from the bottom of the caliper for the other.hope it's some help.
I'll add just a little to this thinking that the person asking is totally new at this particular vehical.
Once you find and remove these bolts as is described above the caliper should be rocked front to back and lifted up until it slides off of the rotor. Be careful that you don't pull it hard or drop it once it's loose, there is a brake hose attached that doesn't allow too much travel, It may be weak from age.
This line should be inspected at this time. Once this is in your hand the pads should press out fairly easy. If this is the 1st time your doing this pay careful attention to how the pads are placed. There are also clips that hold them in place, be careful not to damage these.
What I found helpful is to take a few snap shots of the brakes which may come in handy later & turn the steering wheel so that the wheel your working on is turned outward for easier access.
The front of the caliper will now separate from the back by sliding off of 2 pins, don't get these dirty but you didn't ask about this...This is where I stop, I need help myself from here.

I am not sure if I have seen ERR3 specifically, but on my 2006 I have gotten error codes when I have accidentally inserted a blank CD, or if it is cold outside and I insert a warm CD, or if it is really humid. Condensation (either on a CD or the lens of the laser inside the radio) prevents the laser from reading the disc, and the radio presents an error code. After a bit of time, the condensation dissipates and the problem fixes itself. I usually just listen to the radio for a bit to let the radio heat up internally, it helps fix the problem faster. If you don't think it is temperature related, then sorry, I don't know the answer.

get your rotors turned. or it may be cheaper to buy new ones. undo the caliper to steering knuckle bolts and caliper sliding pins. remove old pads, use brake lube on pad to caliper contacting surfaces. caliper to knuckle bolts need to be around 130 ft/lbs, pins need to be around 40 i believe. as for the rears replace wheel cylinders if they are weeping as it will contaminate new brakes. check drums for out of round/taper, remove hold-down springs (the ones that hold the shoes to the backing plate so that you remember where your springs go, if your springs are worn buy a combi-kit that will contain all new springs. make sure you wash the new drums and rotors thoroughly before installing as they come coated in an anti-corrosive chemical for transporting. after you get your brakes installed tighten the drums in the back via the hole in your backing plate with a screw driver, you want to turn the star-wheel until you have slight friction when hand turning the tires.

I notice the light blinks when the AC is left on and the temperature drops significantly when the car is re-started next. When the temperature is too cold, the AC will not engage. I have also seen it come on sporadically when the refrigerant level is low in the system but I don't know if that is supposed to happen, it could have been a coincidence.

The flat part of the belt touches the flat part of the tensioners. Everything else is simple, the belt goes around the cranck shaft, fan and alternator.
