im not sure but i think u have to file it in their homestate but please dont quote me on that You'll need to file the lawsuit in the state where the actionable offense took place. For instance, if you bought a car in the other person's state but now find it won't run while you're living in your state, you need to file in the state in which you bought the car. Does filing bankruptcy affect US citizenship application?

This context was taken out of context from a financial lawyer There is no immigration law, statute, or regulation that specifically forbids individuals who have filed for bankruptcy from applying for Naturalization. Additionally, there is no specific question on Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, inquiring into bankruptcy. However, there are two questions on the Form N-400 that may indirectly relate to bankruptcy. Those questions are found in Part 10, Section A, questions 4 and 5. Question 4 reads: "since becoming a lawful permanent resident, have you ever failed to file a required Federal, state, or local tax return?" and question 5 reads "do you owe any Federal, state or local taxes that are overdue." If you answer yes to either of these questions, you will need to provide a specific explanation as to why you answered yes and provide supporting documentation. It is important to note that just because a person files for bankruptcy does not necessarily mean that they failed to pay taxes or owe taxes that are overdue. Another issue may be that the Service may view filing for bankruptcy as evidencing poor moral character, especially if such a filing occurs within the five year period immediately preceding the filing of the naturalization application. Pursuant to Immigration and Nationality Act section 324(b), the Naturalization process requires that you prove good moral character for a period of not less than five years immediately preceding the date of filing an application for naturalization and up to the time of admission to citizenship. Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security evaluates claims of good moral character on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the immigration laws and the standards of the average citizen in the community of residence. 8 Code of Federal Regulations ("8 C.F.R.") § 316.10(a)(2). Furthermore, bad acts, such as willfully failing or refusing to pay child support, evidences poor moral character. 8 C.F.R. § 316.10(b)(3). As such, the Service, in its wide discretion, may deem filing for bankruptcy as evidencing poor moral character, depending on the circumstances.

How much must I earn or pay out before a w-2 federal income tax form is required?

There is no lower limit. You pay from dollar one.

And just to clarify - the employer does NOT pay federal income tax on pay to an employee. He "withholds" income tax from the amount of pay he gives the employee (that is an estimate of what will be paid by the employee at tax filing according to the W-4 provided by the employee), and sends that to the IRS. Other than the cost of doing so, it costs the employer nothing.

In fact, the entire reported payroll for the employee is probably the most acceptable tax deduction for the employer that there is!

There may well be other payroll taxes or fee's - like FICA or unemployment, etc that he employer does pay out of his own funds.

How much income can a SSDI recipient earn?

If you work while you are collecting disability benefits, special rules apply: Trial work period - you can work up to 9 months in any five year period and continue to collect disability benefits. There is no cap on your earnings during the 9 month trial work period. If you earn more than $640 in a month in 2007, that month counts as a trial work period month. In 2006, the trial work period trigger was $620. After you have used up your nine months you can earn up to the following without jeopardizing your benefits: 2007 - $900 per month

2006 - $860 per month If you earn more than the above limits for a particular month, you will be asked to repay Social Security for any disability benefits received during that month. SSA will literally review your earnings month by month - if you exceed the limit for a particular month, you will have to pay it back. In addition, if your earnings record shows a pattern of work, SSA will likely review your case to determine whether benefits should be stopped. Note that special rules apply for blind disability claimants.

Is workers compensation taxable income in Iowa?

Amounts you receive as workers' compensation for an occupational sickness or injury are fully exempt from tax if they are paid under a workers' compensation act or a statute in the nature of a workers' compensation act. The exemption also applies to your survivors. The exemption, however, does not apply to retirement plan benefits you receive based on your age, length of service, or prior contributions to the plan, even if you retired because of an occupational sickness or injury.

If part of your workers' compensation reduces your social security or equivalent railroad retirement benefits received, that part is considered social security (or equivalent railroad retirement) benefits and may be taxable. For a discussion of the taxability of these benefits, see Other Income under Miscellaneous Income, later.

What is the difference between a legal lease and an equitable lease?

Suppose the testator left all her property IN TRUST with the profits to be paid over by the trustee to her son during his life, then the property would pass to HIS children at his death. If the testator granted her son the right to use the property and receive the profits from it during his life with the property to go to his children at his death then he has a legal life estate.

If I withdraw from my IRA at age 71 how much do I have to withdraw?

Normally, you must start receiving amounts from your IRA by April 1 of the year after the year in which you reach age 70 1/2. But for 2009 there's a temporary waiver of required minimum payments from your IRA.

To determine your future required minimum payments, see Table II (Joint Life and Last Survivor Expectancy) or Table III (Uniform Lifetime), whichever applies, in Publication 590 (Individual Retirement Arrangements IRAs), at www.irs.gov/formspubs.

Do you put married filing separately on your taxes or single after marrying a non-citizen who is here on a student visa who has no income to report?

In theory the non citizen spouse is not required to file a return, but the other spouse as a citizen has only two choices: either married filing joint or married filing separate. Most likely you will probably want to file jointly so that you can claim your spouse's exemption amount as well as being able to claim some credits which are denied to couples filing separately. The income limitations for couples filing separately are usually halved therefore this is an additional incentive to file jointly. In order for a noncitizen to be included on a tax return they must have a valid tax ID number. This would be a valid SS# for employment or they will have to request a tax ID number from the IRS for income tax filing purposes only.

What should you do if your employer has lost your W2?

You mean for the current year...first they have until the end of January to get it to you...you have no right to demand it before. If it is not received by a bit after that: Form W-2 and Form 1099-R (What to Do if Not Received)

If you do not receive your Form W-2 or Form 1099-R by January 31st , or your information is incorrect, contact your employer/payer. If you do not receive the missing or corrected form by February 14th from your employer/payer, you may call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 for assistance. You must provide your name, address (including zip code), phone number, Social Security Number, dates of employment, your employer/payer's name, address (including zip code), and phone number. The IRS will contact the employer/payer for you and request the missing form. IRS will also send you a Form 4852 (PDF), Substitute for Form W-2 or Form 1099-R. If you do not receive the missing form in sufficient time to file your tax return timely, you may use the Form 4852. If you receive the missing or corrected Form W-2 or Form 1099 after you file your return and a correction is needed, use Form 1040X (PDF), Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.

Can you allow someone else to use your social security number to work?

Yes. You can work with a Social Security Card that is not yours. You will need to work under a false name. It is illegal. You will get fired as soon as the fraud is discovered. Your question is, "Can you do it." It was not, "Should you do it?"

When is the deadline to file taxes?

If you are talking about your federal income taxes, the deadline is April 15 of the following year (or the next business day if April 15 is a weekend or holiday). For example, your 2008 tax return must be filed by April 15, 2009.

If you missed the deadline, file your tax return as soon as possible even thought the deadline has passed. The longer you wait, the more penalties and interest on any amount due add up. And if you are owed a refund, you can still get it for at least three years after the deadline.

State tax rules vary.

How do you figure monthly net pay from a gross salary?

There is no standard formula, it depends on your taxes and other deductions taken, which vary from individual to individual. Taxes vary by region, filing status and withholding allowances. Deductions include retirement contributions, union dues, insurance payments, student loan payments, child support, or others depending on yoru situation.

You can do a google search for "pay calculator" or "net salaray calculator" and look at the ones that come up. I can't find something specific to my area (including taxes from the city, county and state as well as federal) but they can be helpful if you want to estimate. Also, paystubs include an itemized listing of deductions, so you can see you net and gross for a current job on your paystub.

What are the forms of surveys?

I'm guessing you mean what are the types of surveys in general.

If so, then I can think of 4 types of surveys off the top of my head.

  1. Online Surveys
  2. Paid Surveys
  3. Telephonic surveys
  4. One-to-one interviews

There are also 3 types of surveys based on the frequency of deployment.

  • Cross-sectional studies - These type of surveys offers a researcher a quick summary of what respondents think at that given time. These surveys are short and ready to answer and can measure opinion in one particular situation.

  • Longitudinal surveys - Longitudinal surveys are those surveys that help researchers to make an observation and collect data over an extended period.

  • Retrospective survey - A retrospective survey is a type of study in which respondents answer questions to report on events from the past. By deploying this kind of survey, researchers can gather data based on past experiences and beliefs of people.

I can tell you about this one Online Paid Survey site in particular, it’s called Zippy Opinion.

Can you file taxes even if your income is WORKMAN'S COMP and you have 4 dependents?
