Your home pregnancy test will usually not display a positive result until a day or two after your expected period (not a large enough hormone level in your body to be detected). You may just be stressing yourself out (that is why you are not sleeping/depressed). Best of luck to you.

When can you see a baby in a ultrasound?

Some people can see something at 5 or 6 weeks, but usually they can only see the gestational sac at this point. If they do see the baby, it would be very small, since it is only about as big as a grain of rice. Usually you can see the baby pretty well between 8 or 9 weeks, but it still wont really look like a baby. Usually around 10 or 11 weeks is when it actually starts looking human, but everyone is different.

2) You can perform a pregnancy test 2-3 weeks after intercourse and the result will be accurate.

How accurate is the ultrasound due date?

They are accurate within 2 or 3 days. But this does not mean that you will have the baby on your due date. Babies can be born any time between 37 and 42 weeks. That is what midwives are taught anyway. With my first my ultrasound said I was due 10 days after my period date but my husband had been away on a trip form the day after conception! Second time around the ultrasound agreed completely, and showed twins. (now 16) == Your last known period date or the date of conception is a better predictor....as all babies are different & you may have an extrememly large or an extremely small baby for it's gestational age, and when compared against babies in the "norm" the due date could be way off.

When did you conceive if an ultrasound says you are 7 weeks 2 days on April 5?

Ok so you need to find out the day, but if you count exactly nine months back you should be able to narrow down the exact day. I would say sometime time in September/ early October. If you post the date, it would be easier for me to figure out. As you haven't provided an accurate date in June, it is estimated that she conceived around 9 September - 9 October.

Is an Ultrasound painful?

No an ultrasound does not hurt the baby, or the mother for that matter, at any stage. The frequency used during ultrasound is not audible to the human ear and thus does not cause any damage or discomfort to either baby or mother.

When can you get your first ultra sound?

Most doctors will send you for your first ultrasound around 8-12 weeks depending on the doctor and your medical history.... If you are bleeding early on you may be sent at 6-7 weeks. At 11-12 weeks you can have a nuchal scan which measures the thickness of the fold at the back of the neck for Down's syndrome, you will also have dating measurements done (if not done earlier) so you know your due date and the blood tests for abnormality can be done accurately. If none of these tests are being done you may not need a scan until 17-20 weeks when a scan is done to check the baby's legs, arms, spine heart, kidneys etc are normal. You may also be able to find out the sex of the baby at this point. It is not really necessary to have a scan at all but most women do have them done if they can afford them.
