Your breasts are no longer tender and you're very nervous you're only a few weeks pregnant Is this normal?

I think it is very normal to be nervous at all stages of being pregnant. I am 14 weeks and still nervous.. Soon your morning sickness and fatigue should hit about six to seven weeks along and then you will be reassured you are fine... if you are really concerned you could always bring it up with your care provider.

What is time gain compensation in ultrasound?

Ultrasound attenuates as it propagates through the body. When used to image the biological tissues, the echo signals need to be progressively amplified to allow the visualization of the shallow regions simultaneously with the deeper regions. Time Gain Compensation, or TGC, is that amplification step. The amplification coefficient, or gain, needs to increase with depth, as the signal gets smaller and smaller. But in ultrasound imaging, the speed of sound is usually assumed to be constant, creating a direct equivalence between distance and time, which is why the compensation of the gain is implicitly said to change with time, hence the name.

You are confirmed pregnant heartbeat monitor finds heartbeat but ultrasound can't find embryo?

You must go for a second opinion. When the fetal heartbeat is present there must be a fetus. Sometimes a woman can have an ectopic pregnancy and the fetal heartbeat can be heard, but the fetus is not in utero. It is in the fallopian tube. This is a serious condition so you should definitely get a second ultra sound. ASAP!!!

What happens to an ultrasound ray when it hits a boundary?

First off, Ultrasound is not a ray. Like all sound, its a wave. Ultrasound simply means its so low in pitch, its below the human hearing range.

When a sound wave hits a barrier, two things happen. The energy from the wave is partially absorbed into the barrier itself, which will now vibrate with that energy. Also, some of the energy from the wave is deflected, or bounced off.

Think of it as being how you can hear someone talk through a wall. Even though the sound waves are bouncing off the wall, and therefore a small room like a closet would amplify the sound, its still being transferred through the wall.

How incorrect of a due date can an ultrasound show?

I believe that my due date from my ultrasounds were 2weeks wrong. They say i were due March 9th, but i believe i were due Feb 22nd. I ended up having my bub on March 7th and she looked well cooked. I would say they could be wrong but probably no more then 2 weeks either way of the date they give you. You have 2 rememeber the date is only an estimate, if you know what day your last period was or when you last had sex, if your able to work out your own date i would say somewhere in between your date and the ultrasound would be the due date.

What body tissue does ultra sound heat first?

There shouldn't be any heating of anything with ultra sound. Not strong enough to affect the tissue in that way. The machine simply records the difference in density and produces a picture.

Why have an ultrasound at 5 weeks pregnant?

Most women that have ultrasounds that early are having some type of cramping or pelvic pain that needs to be checked out. I had one today. I am only 5 weeks pregnant but i was having sharp pains in my pelvic area. I wanted to make sure that i was not having a tubal pregnancy.

How reliable is the estimation if after an ultrasound at 18 weeks they could not tell the sex of the baby but offered a guess?

I think he guessed and has a 50/50 chance of being correct. You could buy pink clothes if you see something irresistible but don't open them and do keep the receipts so you can exchange them if necessary. You cannot always see the penis in a boy or the vulva in a girl if the baby keeps its legs together so you cannot always tell the sex. Wait until your next ultrasound to see if your baby is being a little more cooperative don't start buying pink or blue things yet stick to some neutral stuff for now if you just can't help yourself my baby had his legs open all the time I knew I was having a boy at 14 weeks but my best friend had to wait until she was 26 weeks to find ou t she was having a girl so it just depends on your baby good luck God Bless and Congratulations on your up and coming new addition!!!

What does unremarkable scrotal ultrasound mean?

The scrotum is the sac around the testis and the ultrasound test that was done showed nothing abnormal. Everything is fine.

What does a baby look like at 8 weeks?

At 7 weeks the baby still looks like a little alien! He/she is weighs less than one gram and is about 1/3 of an inch long! He is about the size of a tic tac! This week your baby's brain is growing at 100 cells per minute within a see-through skull.

Your baby's face is becoming more defined this week. A tiny mouth hole (which will be ready to wail before you know it!), tongue, nostrils and ear indentations are visible. His or her eyes are wide open, but he doesn't have irises (the colored part) yet.

Baby's arm buds are growing. At this point they look more like microscopic ping-pong paddles than arms. Baby's leg buds are also forming and will look like tiny paddles by the end of the week.

The umbilical cord-the connection between your baby and the placenta-is now visible.

How far off can an ultrasound be?

It depends on the level of the sonogram and its purpose. Looking at veins and things of that nature, they're reliable. When it comes to determining a baby's size - they'll give you a decent range ... but they are not very accurate nor can they be fully reliable.
