Writing a CD or DVD involves using a powerful laser to melt a dye inside the disc to a special pattern. Since melting can often be seen as a form of burning, and since burning sounds cooler, it is the preferred name.

iMovie videos are in Quicktime (QT) format and need to be converted to one of the following file name extensions (formats) compatible with Windows Movie Maker:

.asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, or .wmv

.avi is a container format; the file extension itself provides no indication whatsoever of what codec is being used by the audio and video inside it. Because there are many variables, including codec, bit rate, the number of pictures used in the compression algorithm, the sampling size of the audio, etc..., it is impossible to predict with any real accuracy how long a video of an arbitrary file size is.

That is called video editing sofware. Common programs include Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut and Sony Vegas. All video software can edit audio (add sound effects, music, voiceovers), but audio editing programs (like ProTools, Cubase, Logic, Sonar etc.) don't have video editing capability.

I usually use the TunesKit Acemovi, it can also add watermark to a video.

At first, import the watermart to the media and drag the video to the timeline;

Secondly, add the watermark above the video track.

Finally, export the video.

AVI and WMV are both types of video file extensions. You can convert AVI to WMV using software called AVI to WMV converter. This software is freeware.

As long as the Hypercam files are in the correct format for Windows Movie Maker, they can be imported into the program. If the files are not compatible, they will need to be converted before importation.

You can do this yourself with your camcorder and a firewire cable on your computer or you can send the tape to a video transfer service like StashSpace.Com and have it converted for you (they charge $6.95 per tape).

To do it yourself you need to import the video from the tape into a video capture software like iMovie, winodws movie maker, or StashSpace.Com's StashBox. Just connect a Firewire cable between the video source and the computer. You can edit the material in iMovie if needed. Then, from the Share menu, send the video to the Media Browser. You can then load the video into iDVD and create a stylish DVD. Full instructions for each of these stages are available from the Help menu in iMovie.

There are many good online mixing softwares and service that help you to get high quality sound by providing tools to add right tune, melody and composition. The services like AnalogMix are best to make your tracks professional and improve your skills.

Check the Effects option for a blur effect. Otherwise, split/cut the portion out of the movie.

It depends on how you obtained the video. If it is on YouTube, you need a YouTube video downloader. [The best video downloaders are Mozilla Firefox addons.] Once you have the video saved on your computer, you can edit that video the same way you'd edit a video if you took it yourself.

Looks like you don't have enough RAM. Increase Ram if your computer is capable and also run a thorough cleanup and defrag - your computer might be really cluttered and that's what makes it slow.

Linear Editing involves old style Tape to Tape video editing systems where you essentially had to edit your program in order.

Non Linear Editing systems are the norm today, using computers to lay out a timeline where you can insert video clips, or sections of clips as needed. The overall length of the final program will adjust itself accordingly.

Mkv files are much larger than mp4 files. File sizes for mkv's are customarily in GBs therefore conversion to much smaller sized formats such as mp4s is preferable.

It's not the container who determines the size but the codec, Theoretically they would have the same size if the codec settings are the same

There are a number of ways to convert SD video into an HD format. The simplest is to display it on an HD television. All televisions have converters or resize engines that will convert the incoming resolution to the native resolution of the screen. This is necessary in order to fill the screen with the image and it takes place whenever the video source is a different resolution to the screen resolution.

There are hardware and software based converters to enable live video to be converted into an HD format or video files to be processed into HD. Before doing so, bear in mind that converting SD video into an HD format will absolutely not create HD quality. The amount of detail in an image is limited by the resolution. If the image has been created as SD, increasing the number of pixels used to generate the image will not increase the amount of detail but it will spread the original detail across more pixels.

If the plan is to change SD material into HD quality, it's not going to work unfortunately. If it just to display on an HD television, let the television do a single conversion to the required resolution.

It depends on the site you log in. In my opinion, downloading software is more safer and better.

The most common video format (in my opinion) that is used in Windows Movie Maker is either .avi or .mpeg.

You Can't mask in the Movie marker Version.You have to have the Pro version.

But, you can put it on a photo editing software and cut the frames out frame by frame, but its a PAIN to do. I recommend getting the pro version, because updating is cheaper. But, if you want to cut out frame by frame, a free program you can do use is gimp. But photoshop works so much better, because you can put the video on an cut out frame by frame. Just to let you know this isn't the same person as the first. I use Vegas and there is a masking tool. Just go to your timeline, click the Track FX button ( Looks like a division sign flipped 90 degrees and is the color green). Once you click that, you get a list. Masking tool is there as "Sony Mask Generator." That's all. Hope this helped!

Adobe After Effects is not quite the same as Sony Vegas Pro. A better comparison would be sony vegas and adobe premiere. After Effects is for doing short VFX in it, and sony vegas and premiere are for editing a clip.
