There are several major events that happened in Washington, DC over the years. This includes the annual marathons, along with the birthplace of Go-Go music. Sadly, DC was also the area where two snipers randomly killed unsuspecting individuals years ago. In addition to being the nation's capitol, DC also held a number of music, arts, and literature festivals over the years.

During the filming of the film one day was so hot the ivory tower actaully melted.

the swamps of sadness were actually filmed in a real life location im not sure where. they used a platform for the horse to stand on and sunk it down. atrey actually got sucked under at one point and was unconcious.

Well you don't need a personal license to tattoo in Washington State, although most large cities like Seattle you must have a business license and a license for a tattoo shop which you can get from the police department or the health department, these are your proof that you will keep everything sterile and clean and participate in inspections and such.

While it is true that one currently does not need a license to be a tattoo artist in Washington state now (Aug. 2009), Substitute Senate Bill 5391, passed in the 2009 legislative session and signed by Governor Gregoire, will require licensure for those offering tattoos. The law will go into effect on July 1, 2010. Also, since 2001, the standards for sterilization of equipment, and proper maintenance of premises, etc. for tattoo parlors and tattoo artists has been defined by law. Failure to meet these standards is a criminal offense (a misdemeanor).

One, the Battle of Fort Stevens, (Early was Late) July 11th 1864. The Confederate Commander Jubal (Jubilee) Early was late and allowed the defenders time to mass Veteran troops. Had Early been on time and attacked first, he would have routed the Union Forces and Washington D.C. would have been captured. There were already a few people in Washington, D.C. who already lived there when it was established, most notably in the areas of Georgetown, Tennleytown and Anacostia. Few people lived in the city, however, until the American Civil War when the growth of the Federal government required more workers.

The government would move there by the beginning of the new century.
