two possible reasons that i can think of, 1, pipes are heating up ( expanding slightly and making noise) or 2,it is a newer home and is equipped with a hot water circulation system which keeps hot water circulating throughout your home so you use less power heating it,and it is hot on demand not 5 minutes after you turn it on.

If it is an small accidental amount it might be posible to remove it with absorbent socks available from west marine or anywhere that they sell contamination mitigation supplies. The well would have to be big enough in diameter to accept the sock and it would have to be something like a fuel can fell over in the pump house type of accident. This is not likely to remove 100% but a very high percentage can be recovered like that. If it is leaching into the well from some other source it is not likely that a long term permanent solution is viable. There are also enzimes avalable that can aid the process but once things are completed you would need to test the water.

the P0102 code relates to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor. The mass airflow sensor measures the speed and density of the air entering the intake manifold. The engine computer converts this input to a Mass of air per unit time to correctly fuel the engine. the code P0102 will set if the MAF sensor signal voltage is less then 0.20volts. Code P0507 is most likely a result of the faulty Mass air flow sensor. Code P0507 will set if the actual idle speed is greater then 200RPM from what the engine computer has commanded. Engine Coolant Tempature sensor damaged. Being that 2 of the 3 possible causes are air flow related, I would start by replacing the MAF sensor, resetting the computer, and test run the vehicle for a few days to see if the code has returned.

Then scrub the scaled surface with dry wall sanding cloth. I don't know the name, but you can get it at the hardware store. It looks woven, but suppose it is some kind of plastic. At any rate it doesn't harm the vitrious surface of the toilet. CLR usually works unless the stain is a stubborn rust stain. I have had luck using a Magic Eraser. You can buy one from the cleaning aisle in most stores.

NO. This is not OK, it's an environmental hazard and is not allowed in any municipality that I know of. Anyone who did this should know better. The septic waste water is supposed to go to a separation box and be separated into 2-6 pipes with holes in them which form the septic field. If more than a few people did this it would kill or severely damage any animal life in this creek.

Rubber roofs aren't supposed to be entirely flat. They should have a slight slope towards a drain or towards the edge. I would wait until you get some leakage, than tear up and reconfigure the "slight slope" to permanently correct the problem. Modern rubber roofs usually have a foam board underlayment. If you can find a supplier, I believe you can order these sheets of foam designed specifically for your roof. These sheets will be graduated in different thicknesses and numbered to be applied in a specific order to obtain the proper slope for drainage on your particular roof.

It is important to protect our water quality because it plays such a large part in our health, physiology, and lives. It affects our childrens health. It affects all of us. But before we can protect water quality we must first define the parameters of what exactly constitutes "quality" and what is and is not important in relation to the makeup of the water we ALL consume.

There has been little mainstream discussion of the effects of city tap water (for instance) and how it affects us over the long run, and what detrimental factors exist in our current drinking water.

One example is the pipes that bring us our tap water in our homes. It is important to ask these questions: How can this water harm us over time? What about the decaying state of 60 year old pipes (or older) that bring the water that comes out of our sinks? What about calcium deposits that can end up showing up in our bodies as tumors? What is in our water that is NOT supposed to be there, but is simply a byproduct of pollution or contamination (think urban runoff causing traces of antidepressants and other drugs to show up in our water) or the method of delivery to our homes (old pipes that add unintended elements to our water); not to mention that we consume tap water more than you might think: restaurants using tap water as a necessary ingredient in many foods; public water fountains; water used to make the coffee we drink; some of the icecubes we put in our drinks; water as a base for soda and tea; products we buy at the store that contain water, etc...)

The majority of those of us in America ( I can't speak for other countries, I've only lived here) do not seem to question where out water comes from and what we can do to improve its quality. Or questions like "is there really is a quality problem at all?" "Is it simply insignificant amounts of water pollution that will never really affect us in a significant way?"

I am not a scientist or researcher, so I don't know the answer to those questions. But if more people were simply ASKING the questions that we truly need clarification for, we might get those answers. If no one cares and no one is looking, ANYTHING could happen to the quality of our water either without our knowledge or without the knowledge of how serious this issue really is.
