What is the mirror in the Gerstner tool chest for?
Gerstner tool chests are were designed for machinists and toolmakers to hold their measuring tools and instruments. They are mush imitated to this day.
Several reasons have been given over the years for the mirror located in the lid of the chest including a way for the machinist to clean up before going home.
The company was founded in 1906 long before there was much attention paid to workplace safety and there certainly was no OSHA looking out for employee safety.
The most plausible reason is that during the course of the workday a machinist could easily get a metal chip or sliver in his eye. These small bits of metal had to be removed immediately. Iron or steel would immediately begin to rust because of the salt in tears.
With the mirror in the tool chest, the machinist could turn immediately and see his eye to remove the chip. Nowadays you'd take him to the emergency room.
A concave mirror is a reflective surface that curves inward like the inside of a bowl. It can reflect and focus light to create real or virtual images depending on the object's position relative to the mirror's focal point. Concave mirrors are often used in reflecting telescopes and cosmetic mirrors.

What is the object image distance relationship for a flat mirror?
when dealing with a flat mirror object-distance and image-distance should be equal.
What are some uses of a plane mirror?
To reflect light.
for looking
in solar cookers
and in kaleidoscopes
Of course. Mirrors do not reflect every color the same. Usually you would not notice this, because mirrors are desireable because of the lack of color in the reflection. Mirrors can be made of many things, copper (used for lasers), aluminum (used for telescopes), rhodium (used for some optical devices). They each have characteristic reflectivity at various wavelengths. Spacecraft often have mylar coated with gold reflective insulation because it has great reflectivity in the infrared to reflect the heat from the Sun. Of course it looks golden-yellow-green to us.
To directly view the colors of various mirrors, simply observe various metal samples. For example, compare the color of a silver spoon with a stainless steel spoon, and hold both near a flat piece of aluminum foil. Mirrors made from the same metals will show these same colors.
In Feng shui Can a mirror face a entrance door?
Mirrors are used in Feng Shui to redirect, attract, or move certain energies. For different applications different kinds of mirrors are used such as round, square, or octagonal. In addition we use a special kind of mirror called a BaGua mirror for extra powerful solutions. This is a mirror within an octagonal frame with the Chinese trigrams displayed, special colors red, green, and gold, and the wood element as it's frame. We use the BaGua mirror to re-direct intrusive energies such as a road pointing right towards our front door, a cemetery next door, or an intrusive neighbor. Simply point the BaGua mirror with loving intention towards the intrusive energy and it will loving re-direct it back to the source of the intrusion. When we want to attract certain energies a mirror can be helpful. An example would be the placement of a mirror in a place within your environment where you want to attract more of something. One often used place for a mirror is behind the stove to attract prosperity and symbolically double the quality and production of the food. We also use mirrors in retail stores to attract more traffic into the store. To move energies as in a situation in which there is a wall close to the door upon entering, then place a mirror on the wall directly in front of you upon entering. Make sure this mirror is positioned so that your head is fully visible from the mirror. You want to avoid having your head cut off high or low due to improper positioning of the mirror. A mirror used in the front entrance will help expand your Chi and hence your opportunities in life. Avoid over-using mirrors randomly placed because they are powerful remedies and can cause chaotic energies when misused. In most cases the bigger the mirror the better but in some cases a very small mirror is sufficient such as when you want to stop the Chi from going down the stairs too quickly with steep stairs. In this case you would place a small square mirror at the bottom of the stairs facing you as you come down the stairs. Use solid clear mirrored glass panels as opposed to mirror squares for all of the applications mentioned above. In some cases it is possible to use reflective material such as foil paper, shiny wallpaper, shiny tiles, stainless steel etc. An example for this would be when you are looking to place a reflective covering above the lower bunk bed to expand the constricted Chi (see previous Earth Star Feng Shui Column). We used to say that mirrors were the aspirin of Feng Shui, but now we have evolved. We now say that mirrors are the homeopathic remedies of Feng Shui! Use them wisely and they will help you to create balance and harmony in your environment. From: http://www.fengshuitimes.com/tutorials/beginner/detail.asp?tid=1&cid=1
How much should it cost to repair a dime sized crack in a windshield?
It cost me $45 by licensed window specialist to fix a chip in my windshield. He basically filled it with a clear epoxy with a special hand held injection tool that stuck to the windsheild. This made the chip almost invisible and definitely stronger than it was had I left it alone.

I don't know why, but it also effects the driver's control panel.
If it's just the glass, most glass intaller companies can make you a new glass for the mirror for around $15-$25 and glue it back on. If it is the mount where the mirror is attached to the car itself, try visiting your local junk/salvage yard. For a manual mirror expect to pay between $10-$30, for an electric mirror, and or heated mirror, expect to pay around $50-150.

What are little black sand shaped particles in a window frame which has holes in it?
might be fly poop. If it's a WOOD window frame, with small holes visible in the wood surface and the "black sand shaped particles" are piled up in small areas, then you should consider checking for termites. Termite trailings are usually visible as small piles of particles resembling the size and texture of course beach sand. The color of the trailings will vary depending on the age and type of wood involved. Termites in pine wood will have lighter colored trailings due to pine's lighter shade; in contrast, the termite trailings from a darker wood like walnut or mahogany will be much darker than the pine trailings. Different User Answer As a pest control professional and a termite inspector for the last 4 years I can honestly say that I have never seen termites leave any kind of particles. Termites generally leave only damaged wood and mud behind. They use the mud to build a shelter in which they travel through that keeps them protected from outside elements and helps keep moisture in their bodies. The standard subterranean termite does not leave any black particles that look like sand. Without seeing it it would be hard to say exactly what you have
No, this is the same as those big trucks that say that they are not responsible if you are following too close, and a rock hits your windshield. If it happens, the other person is just SOL unless they have insurance that will cover it.
The short answer is no. From the perspective of an insurance company this is seen as a road hazard or "Act of God" rather than an act of negligence and is covered if you have comprehensive coverage.
