Can you connect your ps3 directly with your internet cable i dont have a modem nor router only internet cable can i still connect with that?

No. The PS3 can only have a wired connection with an ethernet cable. The only other connection that is possible is WiFi. The PS3 can only connect to the internet with WiFi or ethernet cable no other type connection is possible. You can not use the HDMI or USB port to connect the PS3 to the internet. I do not believe a router can be connected to the internet cable without a modem or that you can have cable internet without a modem

What does a wireless router hookup to?

All routers, including wireless routers must be connected to your Internet modem to work correctly. Routers usually include installation discs that will help you with the installation of the router to your network. At least one computer/device needs to be used as a control system so that you can change and test your router's settings. If you do not have an installation disc check with the manufacturer for a free download of the installation software.

How do you I connect a T-Mobile phone plan SIM card to a B593 router?

What types of network can you set up to share files of you have two laptops with wire NICs but there is no wifi hotspot avaible?

You really don't need a wifi hotspot for file sharing. If you are using Windows 7 or 8 you create an ad-hoc wireless network. In this case, one of the computers will turn in to a server and the other, a client. Don't get confused, nothing happens to your computers. Go to control panel -> Network and internet -> Network and sharing center -> Set up a new connection or network

Under that option, select "create ad-hoc network"

If this method doesn't work, you can open command prompt under admin privileges. Then type: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid= key=. The second step is, type,: netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Note that these commands must be typed in the laptop which you wanna turn into a server.

Then in the other laptop, this wireless connection must show up. All you gotta do now is to click "connect"

In the server computer, to "STOP" the hostednetwork, you should type the following command

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

That's all. Happy Networking!

How do you fix error 138 net err network access denied unable to access the network on Google Chrome?

An error 138 network error - access denied error on Google Chrome indicates that the computer is unable to access the internet. The first thing to check is that either the Ethernet cable is plugged into the computer or the Wi-Fi connection is turned on and able to access the internet. If this has been checked and is working it could be a Windows or third party firewall issue, which can be fixed by allowing access to Google Chrome in the firewalls 'allowed programs' area. Once access has been given the computer may need to be restarted to allow full access.

Measurement of signal degradation in dB?

"dB", aka decibels, is a logarithmic unit of measurement in base 10. A 10 dB change in signal power means that the power has changed by a factor of 10. A 20 dB change relates to a change of power of a factor of 100, etc. dB are computed using 10*log10(power). If measured in amplitude rather than power, this would convert to 20*log10(amplitude).

How do you encrypt your lynksyss wrt 54g router?

What worked for me was to use Win XP to automatically generate an encryption key and password that I then pasted into my Lynksys WRT54G router when prompted. That made my wi-fi access point secure with WPA2 encryption.

Until you do what precedes, I suggest that you at least disable public broadcasting by your router as follows: use your browser to access your router at 192.168.1.1 (the Linksys default address) and password "admin" (also their default password); then on the menu click on the Wireless tab; then put a checkmark next to "Disable public broadacasting."

What did absolutely NOT WORK were any of Linksys' "Secure Easy Setup" or their printed instructions or their totally useless "remote setup session" for which they charged me $9.99 and never even called me back as promised after a first "technician" screwed up my initial setup that was fine except that it had no encryption.

Who is connected to my wireless network?

You should be able to check how many computers are connected to your router, in the router settings. Most likely you can find it in "Status" for wireless network or for all networks. You check MAC addresses for all your computers connected to the router and compare it with those in the list. In that way you know if you have some "guests". You find out who connected to your router will be much harder and require special software and training.

PS: you can use MAC filter to block "guests".
