Was Romania damaged by World War 2?

Romania picked the wrong side in two world wars. In WWI they thought the Russians were doing well in 1916 and so joined with them. Romania was quickly overrun by German / Austrian troops and occupied for the duration of the war. In WWII, the Romanians thought they knew better. They sided with Germany from the start (what was the alternative? siding with Stalinist Russia was not really an option.) Germany assisted Romania in the war by proving military supplies and various trade. Romania provided most of Germany's natural petroleum supplies. Romania's military fought well alongside Germany's, on the Russian front. About 500,000 Romanian troops died here including large numbers in the Stalingrad campaign of 1942-43. The western allies bombed what parts of the country they could, but the long distances involved prevented the mass terror bombing perpetrated on Germany. After the war, Romania suffered like the rest of eastern Europe at the hands of the Soviets. The country was brutalized by Soviet occupation. Some territory was stripped away. A puppet pro-Soviet government was set up. Secret police terrorized the populace. Eventually the Soviets withdrew and Communism collapsed. The pro-Soviet leadership was disbanded or executed. The Romanians did extremely well out of WW1. They gained Transylvania, the Banat and several adjoining districts, the Bukovina and Bessarabia. The country doubled in size! They were in very good standing with the West because they suppressed the Bela Kun's Communist uprising in Hungary in 1919.

What axis fought on d-day?

The US armed forces assign letters to certain plans, so that they can be discussed without interceptors knowing what it is. D day was the day when Britain and the US invaded France and took it back from the Germans. Some of the French fought for the Germans (and were punished by the free French later, depending on how they helped the Germans.).

So, the answer to your question would be:

The axis powers involved in D-Day were the Germans and the French that sided with the Germans.

Who were the war lords of the axis powers?

Who were prisoners of war in World War 2?

Enemies captured by the other side For about the last hundred years, most nations have agreed on who are POW's and what rights and protections all POW's must be given. All that is written into a series of treaties called the Geneva-Hague Conventions. A conventional POW is a uniformed member of a national military who was captured by another national military outside his/her home nation during a military operation. The two nations need not be at war, but usually are in conflict. A conventional POW must be removed from the dangers of the combat zone, must be fed and sheltered and offered medical care, and cannot be physically abused or publicly humiliated. A POW has no right of appeal of his/her detention, and is held until the conflict ends (in WWII and Korea, the US held POWs for years, until those conflicts ended). POWs can be interrogated, but not tortured (as international law defines torture). Usually prisoners have the privilege of sending and receiving letters and packages (searched), International Red Cross inspections of POW facilities, and confirmation of POW capture is communicated to his/her home nation. Fighters not in uniform ("belligerents"), or not subject to the official discipline of higher commanders (e.g. mercenaries) who are not in national militaries are not entitled to POW rights and protections. A prisoner of war is a person that is held captive for being on the opposite side of a war, not for committing crimes. They are held until the end of the conflict unless traded.

Is fascist or fascism and offensive word like Nazi?

The word fascist is sometimes used to denigrate people, institutions, or groups that would not describe themselves as ideologically fascist, and that may not fall within the formal definition of the word. The Fascist party that developed in Italy in the 1920s rigidly enforced conservative values and behavior norms during the Mussolini regime. As a political epithet, fascist was subsequently used in an anti-authoritarian sense to emphasize the common ideology of governmental suppression of individual freedom. It has also been applied to a broad range of people and groups, including people of many religiousfaiths, particularly fundamentalist groups. The individual, institution, or group(s) called fascist often find the use of the term in this way to be highly offensive and inappropriate.

How often did they shower at the concentration camps?

The Jews kept at these camps had lice and the diseases that came with them. At the begining they had access to cold water showers but when the camps began to be liberated, the guards left and the water was shut off. I highly doubt there were showers. Many who weren't gassed died from disease. One of those diseases was Typhus (not exactly sure if spelling is right). This disease was developed from POOR HYGIENE. Anne Frank died from this disease, along with her sister, Margot.

Hundreds of thousands of Canadian servicemen served (specifically 1.1 Million ). Canada proved their military strength (at the time), boasting the worlds third largest Navy, fourth largest Air Force, and seventh largest Army. Canada took on their own beach in the invasion of Normandy (Juno Beach), out of a total of 5 beaches. Canada took over 45,000 casulties (deaths only included in that number). What steps did the axis powers take to dominate their regions?

The way that the axis lost in World War 2, is that when the axis fell back to Germany, the Russians were attacking from the east, and the American and British forces were attacking from the west. Germany was being attacked on both sides, and this caused its' army to split. They kept pulling back till they reached Berlin, and that was their last stand.
