The theme of "Something Told the Wild Geese" is the natural cycle of migration and the instinctual call of the wild. The poem explores the idea of heeding one's inner voice and following one's true path, much like the geese do when they take flight.

First, you can relax about the bacteria l- the CDC has determined that it is not harmful to humans. With all cleaning processes, you can use chemicals and/or physical means to remove the dirt. A Goose has been known to sleep for a long time....seriously. I once knew this goose that could sleep for 24 hours straight and still be tired. Scientist have studied the problem for decades and have yet to determine why a goose needs so much sleep, "A Goose sleeps so much because she can", said Dr. Mike Fowl, a Researcher for the Society of Goose Watchers of America, adding that, "A Goose has a very specific diet and doesn't really like anything you feed them so its reasonable to think that theres some relation between food and sleep but its hard to say because they are resistant to any type of treatment and are known to act out badly when pressed and then were all screwed so we really haven't made progress in the area." The group insists that there is a cure for this and hopes to introduce the "Goose Prod" for long term sufferers in the spring.
