To me, as a logical person, this would refer to any large, non folding knife which could fit the bowie-like description. At the time of the law, A bowie knife was equated with a dueling weapon and taxed as such. You wouldn't want to give a minor a dueling weapon. Other than this, there is no specific STATE law that I am aware of...but purchasing can still be limited to the seller or area you are purchasing in.

The manager at park place apartments say they are no longer taking low-income housing. I spoke to someone on the phone who said that the apts are from 600+ up for a 1bedroom. She said they originally started taking them in 2008 but no longer do so at this time. She said their waiting list is too long. She also said when they do decide to take them again, it will be announced in news.

The northwest county of Winston set itself apart from most of AL during the Civil War, declaring that if a state could secede from a country then a county could secede from a state. There does not appear to have been a vote to secede from the state but rather a refusal to secede from the Union. Winston County chose to remain neutral in the war, declaring itself the Republic of Winston. It did, however, allow Union troops the unobstructed use of its roads when they came through the area. The Confederacy refused to recognize the county's independence and sought unsuccessfully throughout the war to assert control over the independent-minded "Free State of Winston."

The term Youthful Offender is a status given to someone under the age of 21 who decides to be charged as a youthful offender instead of being charged with another crime. Youthful Offender status is usually reserved for much greater offenses than a speeding ticket. Youthful Offender was set up to give juveniles a somewhat second chance instead of having an offense on their record that would haunt them for the rest of their lives. If you are young, and I am assuming you are, just pay the ticket and move on with life. A speeding ticket is not the end of the world and will not prevent you from being hired nor is it so horrible that it will haunt you for the rest of your life. In other words, it is not great enough to warrant youthful offender status nor would this status likely be granted by a Judge considering the circumstances.
