Early Christian Architecture was influenced a lot by Ancient Roman Architecture, which is characterized by repitition of arches. In this time, they actually converted old Roman buildings into religious structures, like the basilicas. On the other hand, Byzantine Architecture was inspired by Moorish Architecture because of the spread of Islam during that time. It is characterized by the addition of pointed elements, particularly in the dome. They introduce the onion dome, addition of pinnacles, turretts(not sure of the spelling), colorful mosaic murals, and introduction of colored buildings.

Early Christian architecture and early Byzantine architecture are one and the same, as the Byzantine (or Romans as they called themselves) were in fact the early christians. The Moors were not invented at the time. The Mosque archetype in Ottoman architecture (which in popular terms counts as "Moorish"), as well as the Rock Mosque in Jerusalem, draw partly their architectural language from the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul, which at the time of erection was the largest church of Christianity.

Earthship construction, (using rammed earth in old tyres), is very labour intensive, so much of the expense depends on the cost of labour. You can reduce the cost by doing some of this yourself, but it is best to have an experienced person oversee the work. Don't forget to factor in the cost of you not earning while you are doing the building.

If the type of soil on site is not suitable, bringing in other material will add significantly to the cost and make it less sustainable.

Pointed arches were used in Gothic architecture to help support the weight of vaulted ceilings. Rounded arches previously used could not support the increased height, width and weight of new building designs. The concept of the pointed arch operates in a similar manner as two leaning objects. Two sides of a pointed arch lean against each other for support and the increased force and loads placed on the arches from the ceiling is displaced onto the flying buttresses, which are supported by the ground. The increased roof support provided by the pointed arches allowed building walls to be thinner. Decorative details seen on arches were a natural consequence of Gothic design.

Acoustics of a building refers to the way sound resonates or bounces of the walls. This is an important aspect of architecture, which usually entails detailed engineering and planning. Without the right balance of acoustics, sounds won't be equally distributed within hallways and other parts of the building. As a result, some sounds will be higher than others, which results in a poorly designed building.
