What are the similarities of the Aztec and the Anasazi tribes?

Both the Aztec and the Anasazi peoples anticipated the changing of the seasons by tracking the passage of the planets and the stars. They focused their ceremonies on the broad concepts of harmony and balance in nature, and they believed that their ceremonies, properly done, would be rewarded by rain, abundant harvests, successful hunts and good health. They both held beliefs with common threads about their origins and deities. They used similar cultural icons as ritualistic symbols, which seem to have sprung from common cultural wellheads. For instance, their step-sided rain cloud altars and their ceremonial masks probably had roots in the great civilizations of southern Mexico.

Both religions are based on human blood sacrifice, although in the case of the Catholic religion, those sacrifices were prefigured in animal sacrifice and completed in the self-sacrifice of the God-man, Jesus Christ, on the cross. Where was the city of Tenochtitlan built?

Before Tenochtitlan was founded, the Aztecs were a nomadic people whose religion stated that whenever they saw a golden eagle, perched atop a cactus and devouring a snake, they had to settle and build a 'great city'. They found such sign in a swampy, small island in Lake Texcoco. This prophecy was immortalized in the Mexican coat of arms.

Now, not deterred by the unfavourable terrain, they set about building their city, using the chinampa system (misnamed as "floating gardens") for agriculture and to dry and expand the island. Basically, such system requires building levees and then filling the reclaimed land with soil. Such system was also implemented - faster and with better technology, of course - by the Dutch people to reclaim land from the sea.
The wandering "Aztec" tribe saw a vision of an eagle on a cactus, and this was foretold to them that this sign would signal the place where they should settle and build their city on a "promised land".

My spouse was 17, thrown in by his mother, after seeing what he saw in Vietnam to his brothers, he asked when he was 18 to go into action. He could not sit by and watch as his brothers gave their lives. How it's affecting him now, that's a different story. PTSD, Agent Orange Exposure and more. The worst thing I ever did, I thought I was helping was take him to the wall. That is not for those who were there. It's for families and/or tourism. Worst thing I ever did to him. Although at the time, he did not realize it would affect him, or he would not have gone.

What happened to the Aztecs after the Spanish arrived in Tenochtitlan?

Cortes and his men were able to conquer the Aztec capital tenochtitlan partly because?

Cortes was a brilliant military leader. He understood the value of building relationships and alliances with the surrounding tribes. What we would now call military Intelligence, he used to his advantage. The Aztecs like most of the Pre-Colombian Indians were fierce warriors. If not for good fortune and proper preparation of the Battle field. Cortes would not have had a chance. Had all the tribes combined forces, they would have beat the Spanish on the Beaches. Mexico and central America would not be as we know it today.

How do you change your religion?

1. Pray

2. Leave your old Church, Temple, etc.

3. Start going to your new Churc, templ, etc. if it is allowed before you are a member or taking classes or whatever.

4. Do what the religion requires (the new one).

Then you are converted (some you just convert in your heart to)

Answer

You may change your religious views at any time that you wish. Infact, it is important that you look into other religions in order to get an idea of what they believe. And just because you believe a few things in the religion are true, but you dont necessarily agree with all of it, doesn't mean that you therefore can't be a christian, muslim, catholic, buddist, etc. Remember to keep an open mind about what other people believe, and if you are, for example, christian, but you agree with some of the teachings of, lets say, buddism, that's okay. Because you're taking bits of information and then making your own interpretation of it.

Which Mesoamerican group practiced human sacrifice?

Throughout history, human sacrifice has been carried out, exclusively by other humans.

Although most people equate human sacrifice with ancient obscure religious cults and barbaric cultures, it continues to this day and in some very public places.

We tend to think of painted savages wielding stone blades when we think of human sacrifice, but government officials, religious zealots and the commanders of military actions are, as I type this, practicing human sacrifice. And the unnerving thing about it is that most of those sacrificed go willingly to the slaughter, believing they are "doing the right thing".
