What are What are facts about aboriginal art?
Aboriginal art has been around for many hundreds of thousands of years. Aboriginal rock carvings and paintings date back at least 30,000 years, and tell the stories of the artists who painted them. One of the most famous and oldest rock paintings is the Bradshaw paintings; legend tells the story that they were made by the birds that pecked the rocks until their beaks bled and painted the images with their tail feathers. Aborigines state that these paintings were "rubbish" and were painted before the rainbow serpent created the aboriginal race. Bark paintings are an ancient form of aboriginal painting, however many examples of this medium are no longer exist, due to natural disintegration of the bark. Many examples of bark paintings are fairly recent compared to the ancient rock paintings. In northern Australia, paintings on bark shelters in the Kimberley and Arnhem Land were used to illustrate stories which were told during the long hours of the wet season when people were confined to the shelter. Early examples of bark paintings were cut from shelters by explorers, but nowadays, bark is cut from the eucalyptus tree specifically for use as a "canvas".
Aboriginal art has undergone a resurgence in popularity since the 1970's and Aboriginal artists have explored ways to share their values and beliefs with the wider community and tourism markets. Indigenous Australian arts are as diverse as the people that make them, many artists working with non traditional mediums, such as acrylics, photography and fabrics. The themes of their art reflect the range of experiences and issues, and many use their "canvasses" to illustrate political and social injustices, combining these with the more traditional stories, therefore, most Indigenous artists express their heritage and experiences in innovative ways which reflect Indigenous and non-Indigenous influence.

This depends on what you wish to depict, the accuracy you with to strive for, the materials you are working with, and the skill level you possess.
First you have to have an imagination. It can guide you as to the composition you wish to create. Next you must consider your medium, whether you are using charcoal, pen and ink, etc., and what you are drawing on Often what you use to draw dictates a kind of inspiration or dynamism for the drawing and what you draw on sets restrictions and advantages towards what you are trying to craft.
Many of the best artists research their drawings. They study pictures, sketches from the actual battle and time period, eye-witness accounts, correspondence, etc. Some even study the individual weapons, areas and people involved in the battle to better render them realistically in place, use and design.
If you plan on drawing fantasy battles that feature mythological creatures or wars you can do minimal research, though it might be good to make a series of sketches of the races, armor, insignia and weapons you wish to reproduce on your warriors and their engines of war.

Why did Chris Consani call his poster Game Of Fate?
The previous poster's answer was that it the painting was called such "because all 4 of them died young and at their highest artistic point." Problem with that answer is that Bogart was 57 when he died --not exactly "young"-- and his "highest artistic point" was in the 1940's.
It is commonly believed that Consani called his poster the Game of Fate because each of the figures (Monroe, Presley, Dean, and Bogart) experienced a great deal of success followed by great tragedy. Monroe died of a drug overdose at the age of 36. Dean died in a car crash when he was only 24. Presley's stellar career took a nose dive in the 1960s and 70s and finally came to a crashing halt when he died at 42. Although Bogart did die at the relatively old age of 57, he struggled with cancer of the esophagus during the last few years of his life.
