The flag of Guatemala features two colors: sky blue and white. The two sky blue stripes represent the fact that Guatemala is a land located between two oceans, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean (Caribbean sea); and the sky over the country (see Guatemala's National Anthem). After the Spanish were pushed out of Mexico on September 16, 1821; the Mexican Republic assumed reign over all of Spain's land that the country recently was pushed out of. So the Mexicans took over, then Texas seceded and became its own republic. After two years, the Texans became a member of The United States.
