The colors of the rings in the Olympic flag do not represent any continent or country. The colors represent the colors found in the flags of the nations that compete in the Olympic Games.

The Nevada State Flag is cobalt blue. In the upper left hand corner are two sprays of sagebrush, the Nevada State Flower, in a semi-circular design. Above the sprays is the state name, "NEVADA", a Spanish word for "Snowclad" as a reminder of the great peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Above the state name is a silver star representing the Nevada State Mineral, Silver and the wealth of mineral resources within the state. The words "BATTLE BORN" on the gold scroll above the star testify that Nevada was admitted to the union during the Civil War.

The colors used in Portugal flag includes red, green, yellow, white, blue and black. Red and green form mainly the background - bicolor flag and the other colors are used in the symbol embossed in it.

The star that represents Texas is located in the far right vertical column. It is the star that is 2nd from the top. If you draw a rectangle shape with that particular star being on the left side of the rectangle, you will find that the Texas flag will appear within that rectangle.

The Texas flag is always flying when a U.S. flag is flying. The Texas flag just happens to blend in to the U.S. flag until you place a rectangle around it. The Texas flag is the only state flag that is allowed to fly within the U.S. Flag.

The outer ring of 13 stars represents the original 13 colonies. The five stars in a half ring around the bottom of the torch represent the next 5 states. The largest star above the torch symbolizes Indiana.
