The flag of Turkey is red flag with a white crescent moon and a little white star in the centre of the moon. Red colour represents, according to Turkish tradition, hegemony and white power, justice, purity and exaltation.

The Californian flag have the words "California Republic" to represent the three weeks in 1846 when California was independent from Mexico and not yet part of the United States. At this time, it was its own government.
