I forgot the name, but my husband did that several times to travel back to his country to visit. There was never a problem getting it, but it takes a few days to process, so get one early. And of course there is a fee. that process is called advance parole. = Answer == I know that there are forms to be able to do this, but I was told that I could only go back in the event there was an emergency (death in the family, tragic accident, etc.) And even when my grandmother died I had problems going back. I don't know if it is harder depending on what country you are from but it was a pain.
