How do you have a step step cousin?
Well I've heard that a 'step cousin' is a step parent's nephews and nieces. Meaning if your father and mother got a divorice, your mother remarried to a man who is now your 'step dad' then his brother or sister's children are your 'step cousins'.
Also, I believe to use it with my other 'cousin'. I believe step father or mother means a father or mother because of marriage, not a blood parent. So, I believe that when my aunt married my uncle, my uncle became my 'step uncle' or 'uncle by marriage' and his brother's or sister's children are now my 'step cousins' or 'cousins by marriage'.
This may be incorrect but that is how I choose to describe my aunt's husband's brother/sister's kids. I like to be able to call them my cousins because I am so close to them!

Can you get a marriage license in more than one state?
The second state wouldn't issue a marriage license (unless you lied on the application) since a prior marriage must be disclosed as well as the time and place of the divorce. This prevents polygamy which is a crime. However, there may an exception:
If you have a same sex marriage in Massachusetts, you are legally married in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. However, same sex marriage is not recognized in every state.
Perhaps you could theoretically go to another state and marry someone of the opposite sex. That marriage would be recognized by all other states and the Federal government so theoretically you are legally married to two people. However, on the second application for a marriage license you may need to disclose your prior marriage since it is a legal marriage in the state of origin and the second state may not issue the marriage license. That situation still needs to be explored.
Can a Catholic be married in the Catholic Church without also having a civil marriage?
Your case and its details would have to be put to a Catholic priest for scrutiny. The Catholic Church does not recognize civil marriages entered into by It's members, therefore, if either or both parties are Catholic, the civil marriage is invalid and you are currently not married in the eyes of the Church. If you sought out a civil union in ignorance of your obligation to marry only in a Catholic Church, there may be leniency. If you deliberately sought a civil union despite knowing it was contrary to your Faith, this is a grave sin and will require a sacramental confession. Explain your case openly to your parish priest.
Further things that will factor into whether you may have a Catholic marriage are the religion of both parties, whether one or both are baptized, whether any party has been previously married, whether there are any impediments to the marriage (a priest can tell you what these are), whether the marriage is intended as a sacrament or as a personal ascetic desire, etc. Make a list of everything concerning yourself and your partner that may be relevant to these things and take it with you when you meet your parish priest for this inquiry that you may be able to give the information he needs to judge correctly on how to proceed.

Can you get married to a prison inmate in Minnesota?
Yes. In Colorado you can do an absentee application which you pick up in person. The only thing that is required is to fill out the application and send it to the inmate for his signature which must be notarized. All Colorado prisons have notaries. Once you get the application back from the offender, then you take it and his birth certificate or other approved ID (prison ID's are not acceptable) to the county clerk's office. They will issue you the marriage license and then you and the offender can self-solemnize the ceremony. You sign the marriage license as both bride and groom and also as officiant. You will not be allowed to take the marriage license into the facility or send it to the inmate for signing, so it's best to get his Power of Attorney to do that. Then file the license with the county clerk where you got it and you're married. Colorado also recognizes marriage by proxy, but it's way more difficult to do than an absentee application. Google any Colorado Clerk and Recorder website and they will have information on each way to do it. Good Luck!

Were arranged marriages practiced in 1920's America?
Marriages were sometimes arranged in the United States in the early 20th Century. Men who moved out West wanted to have wives so they looked in newspapers for singles' ads or posted singles' ads. Women would then come to the West to meet the man and get married. This was once known as "mail order brides".

If your sister got married would her husband be your brother?
I have looked up the definition in several online dictionaries & I think the answer is yes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sister_in_law
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Sister-in-law
http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=73956&dict=CALD
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sister-in-law
My own Father in law thinks it can only be the wife of your brother, or the sister of your husband but these references disagree, so I call my husband's brother's wife my sister in law.
Hope that helps
How can someone marry without the parents consent?
Bad idea. If you really love this person and you want your future spouse and your parents to build a solid relationship do not get married without their consent. Whatever the holdup is, try to work that out first, even if it means to put the wedding off a bit. Now if your parents a being unfairly unreasonable and you and your partner are mature enough to handle the consequences then hey the choice is yours. Good luck on your decision. I pray you make the right choice.
Is your marriage legal if you never got your marriage license?
The marriage license in itself does not certify that a legal union has taken place. The marriage certificate signed by the person who is authorized to perform marriages is proof of a legal marriage. A copy of the marriage certificate is given to the couple after the marriage ceremony, then the marriage license/cerificate is (or should be) filed by the person who performed the wedding with the state's vital statistics bureau. Confirmation of legal marriages are filed with the state bureau of vital statistics and in copies should be available from the city or county where the marriage occurred. If the city or county cannot find the document the interested party should contact the bureau of vital statistics at the state capital. The absence of the document does not necessarily mean the marriage is not legally valid, although it may create some difficulty when engaging in certain transactions such as Social Security benefits.

Why do husbands lose interest in their wives?
Women are different. Men are always "ready", while women need everything to be "just right". Of course, when everything is new, romantic and exciting, some women are far more interested. But later, after the excitement wears off, they need the romance for intimacy to be enjoyable. After a relationship has developed, children, work and other responsibilities make it difficult for women to "let go" enough to enjoy intimacy. Sometimes a mini-vacation or romantic evening can help bring the excitement back for a woman. But don't be a klutz and tell her that you're doing the whole romantic thing so that you can get lucky. Just be nice, go to a movie and dinner, maybe a drive. Spend time together and try to avoid the stuff that annoys her. Maybe some flowers or a little gift. Then you have to be ready to NOT have things go the way you are planning. If she still can't get in the mood, you may need to do the same thing a few days later. Treat her special and she will eventually respond. But if you tell her that you're treating her special because you have expectations, you'll just make her angry. Some couples have a regular "date night". That's when the husband and wife go out together, just them, no children, no talking about work or bills or any negative stuff. There should be separate time for that. Also, never argue in bed. If you need to argue about something, go to a different room. There are plenty of ideas for increasing the intimacy of your relationship. If you can't get things working on your own, sometimes a marriage counselor can help. Don't take it personal, occasionally we all need to step back and take a look at our relationship. If we can't see our problems, often a marriage counselor can help us through the problems that are preventing us from enjoying the relationship. Redbeard gave excellent advice, but, I would like to add that hormones can be the big culprit at times as well as medications that have the side effects of lowering the libido (antidepressants are big for this.) Diseases such as diabetes or heart problems can also lower the libido. Some women while still getting their period can have PMS and trying to have sex at this time is a guy taking their life into their own hands. LOL Also from 35 plus women can go into peri-menopause and later (approx. 50) can go into full menopause (ceasing of periods) and become cranky, depressed, have headaches, aching, bloating, depression and hot flashes just to mention a few symptoms. I agree with what Redbeard says as far as spending some quality time with your girlfriend or wife. Often men can take their girlfriends/wives for granted and sometimes the women can do the same things with the men. Women certainly do like romance and quality time with their partner and it's not all about sex, but having romantic dinners, just going for walks together, discussing your future dreams for the future and have a lot of good belly laughs along the way.
How do you know if you are being used by your husband?
Women are complicated little creatures and since most of us don't even understand ourselves it is highly inevidable that men sure don't understand them. LOL
As you know women up to their 40's or a bit more can go through their periods leaving them cranky, and a "no touch" attitude. Also if the women is in their mid 40's on they can be going through menopause that can cause the same mood swings. This is no reflection of their male counterpart. Don't forget ... life for a married couple can be a drudge at times and often boring leaving each party feeling unappreciated.
If your wife is not as loving as she once was, but is home cooking and cleaning or looking after the kids and is just cool towards you, chances are she needs a break (dinner out or a nice romantic getaway.) If she is out in the evenings (sometimes not coming home) you have a problem!
You should sit down with your wife and ask her how she feels about your marriage. She may be harboring annoyances of every day life, but you need to assure her things will be fine. Time to go on a vacation (without the kids) and have some fun.
If your wife is going out at night you have every right to voice your concerns. If you are working and coming home and the house/apt., is a mess, etc., then you should also voice your concern. Silence is the evil deed here. Communication is everything.
Also, "look unto yourself." When was the last time you told her YOU loved HER. When was the last time you bought her flowers for no reason whatsoever other than the fact you love and appreciate her? When was the last time you had a romantic evening out? Better still, when was the last time you sat down with her and suggested you both work on a plan for a little vacation away?
Good luck Marcy
