What did the Ohio Army National Guard not use in dealing with student's Vietnam protests at Kent State in May 1970?

The Ohio National Guard did not use rubber bullets at Kent State in May 1970, nor good judgment and restraint. They reacted.

The Ohio Army National Guard originally deployed CS gas (riot gas), then reverted to their M1 Garand rifles when the bricks and rocks began impacting amongst the troops. Rocks and bricks are deadly weapons, in ancient times "being stoned to death" was standard procedures for executions. Those men had the right to defend themselves with deadly force. Their marksmanship may have been brought into question regarding the targets that they hit, but that was a different issue.

The M1 Garand was a WWII and Korean War US rifle; a 30-06 semi-automatic weapon that fired an 8 round clip, not a magazine but clip...that flew out of the weapon with the 8th shot. Then a fresh fully loaded 8 round clip was reloaded. The ejected 8th empty shell casing with its accompanying empty steel clip made a loud metallic clanking noise as it ejected and flew through the air; this was the noise that the enemy in the Korean War listened to...indicating that the US serviceman's rifle was empty and needed reloading...which signaled the enemy (in Korea) that that was a good time to make an assault (to make a "charge"). Just part of the reason why the US Army went to the M14 rifle in 1957, which of course was replaced by the M16 in the 1970s. The M14 rifle was as .308 round (7.62mm), the M16 is a .223 round (5.56mm).

How do you get an emancipation from your parents in the state of Ohio?

Contact a local attorney. If there is abuse contact the police first. Getting emancipated without parental permission or abuse is difficult.

Answerhttp://www.ohiobar.org/pub/lycu/index.asp?articleid=300

The above link to the Ohio State Bar Association states: "A person who wishes to become emancipated cannot do so by petitioning the court, as there is no provision for such a petition in Ohio."

AnswerI have read 2 different answers...I have read that if you are being abused or neglected then you can be emancipated at 16.But I have also read that there is no emancipation in Ohio unless you are married or join and armed force.
